Social-Media and Content Creation Manager

Are you an experienced digital media professional ready to make a global impact? BIS is looking for a Social-Media and Content Creation Manager to craft engaging multimedia content and steer our social media strategy. This role is based in Basel, Switzerland however, thanks to our status as an international organization, we can hire globally and welcome applications from candidates of all nationalities and located anywhere in the world. Relocation support is available for the successful candidate and their dependent family members.

Purpose of the job:

The Social Media and Content Creation Manager will be responsible with planning and coordinating the work around social media and content creation by:

  • Collaborate with colleagues in this area to guide the social media strategy and effectively create and curate engaging multimedia content across multiple platforms and channels.
  • Exploring new social channels and formats.
  • Maintaining a strong corporate identity and employer brand for the BIS alongside the communications unit and business partners.
  • This role involves the oversee and work coordination of the social media channels and strategy, but it is not a leadership position.

By joining the Digital Communication and Content team, you will:

  • Get the opportunity to oversee the social media activities by running day-to-day tasks, planning, and monitoring the content, bring innovative ideas, as well as taking care of related analytics and reporting.
  • Play a pivotable role in developing and distributing timely and relevant content for various channels and audiences.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Oversee BIS’s social media channels, editorial planning, and governance, setting clear metrics to measure effectiveness.
  • Lead the development and execution of multimedia content, including photos, videos, and podcasts, aligning with strategic goals.
  • Plan and coordinate the work of a team of experts, driving the digital communications and content strategy at BIS.
  • Lead the publication of content to BIS social media channels, leveraging ideas, knowledge, and resources across the Communications team.
  • Foster strong relationships with business partner functions and collaborate closely with colleagues in Communications, both in Basel headquarters and the BIS’s regional offices.
  • Direct, design, implement and project-manage content campaigns, ensuring efficient deployment of in-house and external resources in line with business priorities.
  • Ensure BIS corporate identity and branding consistency across all digital content and platforms.
  • Provide insights through social data and dashboards to drive strategic decision making across the BIS.
  • Develop efficiencies by enhancing self-service and coaching colleagues through the provision of templates and access to multimedia resources.
  • Develop social media policies and provide guidance to colleagues to help them achieve their business goals.

Qualifications, skills, and experience:

  • Passionate about digital media and ready to make an impact. Positive and pro-active personality
  • Very good experience in running and coordinating communications campaigns, with experience in digital media, delivering digital content and evaluating online engagement.
  • University degree (or equivalent) in communications, journalism, public relations, marketing, or experience in a related field
  • Consistent track record in managing large social media accounts, with advanced knowledge and experience in strategy, posting, influencers, and evaluation.
  • Superior copywriting and editing skills in English, with demonstrated social media creativity and ability to write compelling narratives and texts.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including active and empathic listening; ability to work effectively, share knowledge with the team, and collaborate productively with internal partners at all levels.
  • Excellent planning and project management skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant social media applications, platforms, databases, and systems; thorough understanding of web design; image and video editing skills.
