Description of the Assignment: The assignment entails seeking an Investment Advisor to join UNDP RBA’s Regional Programme in the Regional Bureau of Africa on a part-time basis for 12 months, working from home. The Investment Advisor will play a pivotal role in mobilizing capital for the Timbuktoo Africa Innovation Foundation, established following the official launch of the “timbuktoo” initiative at the World Economic Forum in Davos in January 2024. The subsequent incorporation of the foundation in Kigali, Rwanda, reflected broad support from diverse founding members, signaling Africa’s readiness to nurture innovation. The Investment Advisor will be responsible for developing the investment philosophy, generating pipeline strategies, conducting roadshows to attract capital, managing stakeholder relations, and providing advisory support on fund management, thereby contributing to the foundation’s mission of fostering a vibrant startup ecosystem in Africa.
