Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a leading protection agency with a mandate to protect, advocate and promote durable solutions for displacement affected populations.
DRC has been operating in Ukraine since 2014, currently DRC employs over 700 staff in Ukraine and will continue significant scale-up in 2024 to implement emergency response in the Protection, Livelihoods, Shelter/NFIs and Humanitarian Disarmament and Peacebuilding (humanitarian mine action) sectors, using direct interventions, support to duty bearers and civil society organizations (CSOs), and partnerships with CSOs. DRC will continue and adapt its durable solutions portfolio to the evolving context.
DRC is currently looking for a Safety Assistant (Radio Operator) in Kyiv. This position is open to Ukrainian Nationals only.

About the job
The Safety Assistant is to monitor and record all movement of DRC vehicles and staff, as well as to monitor information networks and update local alert groups in a timely way. S/He follows the security situation within the relevant area of operation, forwards information on any changes to the security situation to the safety Department, and always maintains a high level of alertness and discipline.

To be successful in this position, we expect you to have preferably at least 2 years of relevant experience and the ability to prioritise a number of tasks and work calmly under pressure. Moreover, we also expect English language skills at the level of comfortable communication with a native speaker.
