Organizational Setting
The position is located at the FAO Representation in Georgia under the European Neighbourhood Programme for Agriculture and Rural Development (ENPARD) IV programme. The main aim of the FAO country offices, which are headed by the FAO Representative, is to assist governments to develop policies, programmes and projects to achieve food security and to reduce hunger and malnutrition, to help develop the agricultural, fisheries and forestry sectors, and to use their environmental and natural resources in a sustainable manner.
Reporting Lines
The incumbent will operate under the overall responsibility of FAO Representative in Georgia, the direct supervision of the ENPARD IV Programme Manager, in close coordination with the International Value Chain Specialist and other members of the project team.

Tasks and responsibilities
The Specialist will support the monitoring of project activities towards a successful and timely implementation of project outputs, and more concretely:
• Lead the operation of the monitoring system and train and oversee team members to use this system to enable real information flow from the field to the management unit for all projects.
• Collect inputs from teams and assist in drafting project progress reports against indicators and targets, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations; develop bi-weekly project performance updates.
• Support the project team to develop and strengthen monitoring, review and evaluation procedures.
• Support the project team in baseline and endline data collection and analysis on a needs basis.
• Support the planning and execution of monitoring field visits to trained farmers, beneficiaries of matching grants, etc.
• Assist in the preparation of evaluation plan for field visits to monitor and evaluate impact of the project activities directly with the final beneficiaries (trained farmers, beneficiaries of matching grants, etc.); assist in conducting and coordinating monitoring visits.
• Assist in reviewing, updating and measuring progress against the ENPARD IV programme workplan;
• Perform other related duties as required.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree in statistics, economics, food technology, veterinary science, agricultural science, or similar.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience in using Monitoring and Evaluation tools related to agriculture, veterinary and rural development projects.
• Working knowledge of English and Georgian
