Apart from the humanitarian challenges that the country faces as the host of refugees and asylum-seekers, food insecurity and undernutrition remain serious public health problems, which are driven by a range of factors including poverty, limited dietary diversity, poor sanitation and hygiene conditions, and gender inequality.
WFP is working with the Government of Angola and a broad range of partners towards the achievement of Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) 2 (Zero Hunger) and 17 (Partnerships for the Goals).
Reporting to the Project Manager, the Pharmacist will ensure compliance of the project’s processes/procedures and tools in line with WHO good practices, national drug policy, international regulations and in accordance with WFP Health and Safety policies and procedures and good practices, for the management of Global Fund’s ‘in-Country’ Health Supply Chain (pharmaceutical products) for the Malaria, TB & HIV Programmes in Angola, inter alia:
Education: | Degree in Pharmacy/Pharmacy technician, with good knowledge in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Warehousing and Distribution Management. |
Experience: | Typically five years or more of postgraduate progressively responsible professional experience in a relevant field of work, with a background and interest in international humanitarian development. Experience of managing small teams of staff with related areas of expertise. |
