The SES Digital Platform provides a set of enablers worldwide to offer a new and improved experience to prospective donors and existing individual supporters through tailored communication and customized donor journeys with UNICEF.
The Supporter Engagement Strategy (SES) Digital ecosystem consists of Salesforce, Microsoft Azure, Power BI and other third-party technologies which is adopted by UNICEF fundraising markets to digitally transform their way of working.

The Salesforce Digital Platform is developed with an agreed reference or enterprise architecture as the core principle to enable scalability. Fund Raising markets can localize the solution for market specific requirements, such as Payment Gateways and unique fundraising channels.

Continuous growth, implementation, maintenance, and support of the SES Digital Platform must be managed to successfully meet the need of stakeholders. Implementation and localization in markets is driven by the central SES team and is executed in collaboration with an implementing partner and/or third-party vendor.
Under the supervision of the Chief Digital Tools and Platforms, the incumbent of this post will lead as a Senior Technical Project Manager and manage the successful implementation and delivery of the scope of the SES project.

Roadmap 

The SES project roadmap in 2024 and 2025 includes multiple country offices in the ECAR and LAC regions, including Brazil, Mexico, Ecuador, Peru, Romania, Serbia, Bulgaria, and Greece. The timeline is dependent on country office readiness to embark on the project. The consultant is expected to technical project management 2-3 projects squad that includes combination of SES implementations (pre-implementation, implementation, testing/Go Live and Hypercare phase) and major enhancements for under Business-as-usual phase. The consultant is expected to work across different time zones to support the global project implementation.

Key Deliverables

  • The ideal candidate will lead and engage with UNICEF’s internal technical and business teams as well as External Vendors and Implementation Partners to ensure a successful SES platform implementation.
  • The successful candidate will create a collaborative and transparent environment and will guide implementation teams and process owners to reach project goals.
  • Effective and practical standardization and governance must be implemented.
  • This role is key in aligning project progress, risks and issues with the SES Management Team and in creating effective Stakeholder communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Planning, design and management of project scope and deliverables, based on the official SES Engagement model.
  • Develop a detailed project plan (backed by DevOps) as well as a visual project timeline for Stakeholder communication.
  • Work with the ICT CRM Lead and the Individual Giving Business Lead to manage the day to day activities in the implementation teams.  Actively track and monitor the project tasks performed by business owners, technical SMEs, and the vendor.
  • Provide day-to-day coordination and quality assurance for projects and tasks. Lead and manage the phase transition ceremonies.
  • Enforcement of technical and delivery standards and the reference architecture.
  • Overseeing the end-to-end system landscape implementation and application integration.
  • Provide input to resource planning and budgeting activities.
  • Coordination with Service providers, including UNICEF internal business teams and technical teams as well as external implementation vendors and other third parties.
  • Perform risk management on projects. Manage project risk and escalate issues to the appropriate level when needed.
  • Status reporting, project communication.
  • Stakeholder identification and management.
  • Technical process enforcement and improvements, including the agreed Engagement Model.
  • Provide input into successful post go live processes and improvements.

General

  • Demonstrate strong project ownership and responsibilities.
  • Lead and manage the phase transition ceremonies.
  • Effective communication with project sponsor, stakeholders and project team.
  • Maintain positive team atmosphere.

Project Change Management

  • Ensure that change management, training and communication activities are identified and executed.
  • Oversee the documentation of technical, functional design documents, SOPs and user training.

Project Closure

  • Ensure that the project, when formally closed, has lessons learned and appropriate documentation to support implemented processes.
  • Project records and documents are properly handed over to technical and business leads with clear descriptions of ongoing roles and maintenance activities

Travel: This role will work with UNICEF Country Offices so travel will be required. This will be covered separately by UNICEF as per current Travel Policy, and not in the lump sum fees.

To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have…

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Information Systems Management or Information Technology, Project Management, Computer Science, Business Administration or related field is desirable.

*A first University Degree in a relevant field combined with 2 additional years of professional experience may be accepted in lieu of an Advanced University Degree.

  • A minimum of 8 years of relevant professional project management experience in systems project management (large-scale, global implementations) or software development, technical integration or business operation environments with a proven track record of interfacing with multiple levels of the organization and successful project completion.
  • Fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an asset.
  • Experience in leading technically complex global projects.
  • Experience in change management for large operational projects.
  • Experience in managing project risks and facilitate decision making.
  • Experience with enterprise level platforms.
  • Experience managing software implementation and understanding of business requirements.
  • Detailed knowledge of the Project Lifecycle and fluency in Agile project management methodologies.
  • Experience collaborating across multiple functions and working with operational SMEs, technical resources/ infrastructure and architecture teams.
  • Excellent communication & presentation skills (written & verbal) across multiple audiences with ability to influence others while working in a multicultural, multi-ethnic environment with sensitivity and respect for diversity.
  • High motivation, enthusiasm, and dedication to deliver results within strict timeframes.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced matrix environment including managing across multiple geographies, functions & organizations often outside ‘standard’ working hours.
