The United Nations World Food Programme is the 2020 Nobel Peace Prize Laureate. We are saving lives in emergencies and using food assistance to build a pathway to peace, stability and prosperity for people recovering from conflict, disasters and the impact of climate change.
WFP’s emergency response in Yemen is one of the agency’s largest anywhere in the world. As of Q3 2023, WFP delivered vital food assistance to 13.2 million people in need, provided nutrition support to 2.9 million children and women, and also contributed to education through its school feeding programme reaching 2 million schoolchildren.
WFP and SCMCHA are jointly managing two data centres for managing the beneficiary’s targeting registration and the distribution of entitlements.
The incumbent of this position will manage the operations at the datacentres, lead the coordination with SCMCHA technical team thus facilitating a fluid and compliant beneficiary registration and distribution process. The incumbent will also oversee the transfer management solution design and intervention support.
Education: Advanced University degree in International Affairs, Economics, Nutrition/Health, Information technology, Agriculture, Environmental Science, Social Sciences or other field relevant to international development assistance, or First University Degree with additional years of related work experience and/or trainings/courses.
Experience: For holders of an advanced degree, 3 years of relevant work experience, and 5 years for holders of first-level university degree of progressively responsible experience in a humanitarian organisation, with demonstrable field experience dealing with Beneficiary Identity Management and large-scale beneficiary registration in complex operations. In-depth field experience in emergency contexts is highly desirable.
Language: Fluency (level C) in the English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language: Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an added advantage.
