Risk Management Senior Officer/Lead Officer – Capital Management

We are looking for a dynamic professional to support the Risk Management Department of IDB Invest in developing and deploying advanced capital management methodologies and tools.
The objective of this function is to directly support the Chief Risk Officer (CRO), and the Financial and Operational Risk Division of the Risk Management Department (RSM/FOR), in Capital Management and Capital Optimization initiatives in the context of the originate-to-share strategy for the IDB Invest+ business model.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
The responsibilities will include:
Capital Management: Coordinate with the Finance Department on the calculation of historical and projected capital ratios under various methodologies incorporating risk transfer. Develop metrics to assess different risk transfer modalities and mobilization strategies. Support capital assessment as per external credit rating agencies approaches to risk transfer. Serve as a source of expertise on rating agency methodologies and analytics.
Capital Optimization: Support decision making for capital allocation. Evaluate capital efficiency for multiple risk transfer products and develop decision hierarchy and prioritization. Consider G20 Capital Adequacy Framework (CAF G20) recommendations in pursuing capital optimization on the Development Related Asset (DRA) and the Treasury portfolios as well as evaluate alternative sources of liquidity and funding such as hybrid capital and guarantees. Benchmark with other MDBs on the internal models and thresholds for deploying capital.
Stress Test and Scenario Analysis: Perform quantitative and qualitative scenario analysis to determine sensitivity of capital ratios to various economic and financial scenarios.
The selected candidate will collaborate with the four teams within the Risk Department: Credit Risk, Financial and Operational Risk, Social and Environmental Risk and Special Assets.
WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Education: Master’s degree or equivalent advance degree in a field related to risk management. CFA is a plus.
Experience: At least 5 years of relevant financial and risk experience in developing models and quantitative methods. Required knowledge of rating agency methodologies on risk transfers, securitization and supranationals ratings criteria is a plus.
Languages:oral and written proficiency in English and ability to communicate in Spanish or Portuguese.
Consanguinity: You have no family members (up to the fourth degree of consanguinity and second degree of affinity, including spouse) working at the IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab.
Type of contract: International Staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
