The Position:
The purpose of a Logistic Coordinator is to implement delegated area of logistic responsibility and deliver a variety of procurement and other logistics related activities, including management of warehouse, fleet, distribution and asset.
Specific responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and training to logistics staff to effectively support ongoing projects.
- Maintain pipeline planning and ensure that sufficient warehouse space, handling and transportation resources are available.
- Line management of procurement and warehouse staff, ensuring anticipation, coordination, efficiency and relevant communication with relevant departments at AO level. Take the lead on most important procurement and warehouse activities.
- Ensure efficient fleet management through proper sizing of the fleet, movement plannig, fuel management, shared management of drivers with HSS.
- Responsible for AO assets management in line with NRC policy.
- Provide logistics reports on regular basis (KPI reports, fuel reports, etc.) and ad hoc reports based on requests from AO and CO (donor reports, partners report, stock reports, etc.).
- Represent NRC together with the logistics manager with external parties such as suppliers, partners, other aid organizations.
Generic professional competencies:
- 3 to 5 years of experience from working as a Logistic Coordinator in a humanitarian/recovery context
- Previous experience from working in complex and volatile contexts
- Documented results related to the position’s responsibilities
- Knowledge about own leadership skills/profile
- Fluency in Arabic and English, both written and verbal
