Description of the Assignment: As part of the “AI4SB: Envisioning Smart Bangladesh through Responsible AI Policy Development and Sensitization” project to harness the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) for national development, the Government of Bangladesh (GoB) is seeking to formulate a robust National AI Policy. The aim is to create a policy framework that not only promotes the advancement of AI technologies but also addresses the ethical, socio-economic, and regulatory aspects associated with AI deployment in various sectors. This important initiative is a collaborative, multi-stakeholder effort, under the leadership of the ICT Division and UNDP Bangladesh. It involves contributions from various government agencies, including a2i, which is assisting the ICT Division to formulate this policy. The a2i project is going to recruit a National Consultant for AI Policy Development who will be responsible for reviewing AI policies, and developing guidelines and frameworks for Bangladesh. He/ She will directly work with the Policy Analyst, positioning a2i as a trusted and credible partner of the Government’s Smart Bangladesh vision.
Period of assignment/services: 45 (Forty-five) working days over 3 months
