Holding significant decision-making authority and autonomy, the Senior Director’s choices critically influence organizational outcomes and stakeholder relationships. They develop and implement strategic plans for the division, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives. The Senior Director has a proven track record of success in resource mobilization and achieving annual sales targets. Their decisions on prioritizing funding opportunities and allocating resources are pivotal to the organization’s ability to achieve its development goals, particularly in establishing strategic partnerships with key government agencies and foundations to ensure funding sustainability and maximize programmatic impact.
Collaboration & Interaction:
The Senior Director establishes strategic liaisons with technical leaders to align funding pipelines with resource mobilization plans. They collaborate closely with the BD Analytics team, providing vital input on data and market analyses to inform strategic plans and targets. Engaging with the Vice President, Business Development & Partnerships, the Senior Director coordinates the allocation of development account funds. This role involves extensive interaction with technical, regional, and country office staff to gather actionable business intelligence and foster strategic partnerships. The Senior Director effectively negotiates significant matters with senior management, executives, and key stakeholders, ensuring that all collaborative efforts are aligned with organizational goals.
Management & Supervision:
The Senior Director oversees a division, providing guidance and support to lower-level management and ensuring their efficient execution of departmental activities. They make timely decisions, establish clear deadlines, and streamline task management processes. Leading a diverse team of business development professionals, the Senior Director ensures the effective management of pipelines, sales targets, and relationships with donors and partners. By setting clear timelines and priorities, they promote a collaborative and results-driven team culture.

Knowledge & Skills:

Previous experience in an NGO or international organization is crucial, along with a comprehensive understanding of organizational structures, policies, practices, and their impact. The role requires a proven track record of meeting budget, schedule, and performance requirements, strong leadership abilities, effective critical thinking and problem-solving skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and strong oral and written communication skills in English.
