Tätigkeitsbereich

 

The International Tax Compact (ITC) facilitates the secretariats of the Addis Tax Initiative (ATI) and the Network of Tax Organisations (NTO). It is driven by the vision of fair, efficient and transparent tax systems for sustainable development and aims to strengthen the effectiveness of results-oriented initiatives in the area of tax and development by facilitating and supporting networking, knowledge sharing and multi-level cooperation within and across initiatives in an impartial manner.

As the host of the secretariats of these international initiatives with members distributed globally, the ITC’s work relies on sound, effective, and compelling communication within its initiatives as well as in the broader networks on taxation and development.

The ITC is part of the GIZ Sector Programme Good Financial Governance (SP GFG).

Ihre Aufgaben

 

As an intern (m/f/d), you will support the communication of the ITC, in particular its two work lines NTO and ATI. Your tasks include:

  • Regular content creation and posting on the ITC’s social media channels (LinkedIn and X) and internal GIZ communication channel
  • Managing and updating the content of the ITC, NTO and ATI websites
  • Drafting of newsletter articles, reports, briefs, factsheets, presentations etc.
  • Assisting the design process of communication materials in close collaboration with external service providers
  • Proactively supporting the implementation of the communication strategies of NTO and ATI and creating communication plans for events and studies as requested;
  • Supporting the communication processes associated with the organisation, implementation, and follow-up of (virtual) international events (e.g. events, webinars, internal workshops, etc.);
  • Conducting research on relevant developments, events, and publications in the area of taxation & development which might be relevant for members of the initiatives;
  • Supporting knowledge management, network management, and the exchange of information within the team and towards external stakeholders;

 

Ihr Profil

 

  • University degree in communication, media studies, journalism, economics, political science, or another relevant discipline; at least equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree.
  • Basic knowledge and vast interest in the fields of policymaking and governance, tax policy and administration, and international development cooperation.
  • You work in an organised, structured, creative, independent, hands-on, detail-oriented, and results-driven way. You are able to work under time pressure and willing to quickly familiarise yourself with complex issues.
  • Experience with social media management (X and/or LinkedIn) is a prerequisite. Experience in organising digital events is an advantage. And you have a high level of digital affinity and enjoy working with social media.
  • Excellent knowledge of the common MS Office programmes (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power Point) is imperative. Experience with Adobe InDesign is a prerequisite.
  • Experience in the administration and maintenance of websites is an advantage.
  • Strong fluency in written and spoken English is imperative. Good knowledge of French and/or German or Spanish is a distinct advantage. And excellent communication in written form and drafting skills.
  • Experience in external communication and/or network management is a distinctive advantage. And you enjoy working in a team and are not afraid to contribute your ideas and develop new concepts.

We pay a monthly stipend of €2.134,52 (gross).
