Job Summary: 

Under the overall guidance and supervision of the Head of Admin Unit and direct supervision of the Head of Banja Luka Office, the Driver provides reliable and safe driving services promoting a client-oriented approach consistent with UNDP rules and regulations.

The Driver provides reliable and safe driving services ensuring high accuracy of work to the operations and programme/project staff in the CO, Consultants and Experts and UN staff on mission. The Driver demonstrates a client-oriented approach, high sense of responsibility, courtesy, tact and the ability to work with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Ensure provision of reliable and secure driving services by a) driving office vehicles for the transport of authorized personnel and delivery and collection of mail, documents and other items and b) meeting official personnel and visitors at the airport, visa and customs formalities arrangement when required;
  • Responsible for day-to-day carpool management of Banja Luka field office, including maintenance of Vehicle/Driver Request application system, timely engagement of drivers and use of vehicles;
  • Acting as Chief of Transport in his/her absence, performing all required duties;
  • Ensure cost-savings through proper use of assigned vehicles, ensuring timely and adequate maintenance, keeping track and monitoring of data pertaining to the assigned vehicles’ regular servicing, monitoring of fuel consumption;
  • Monitor and prepare vehicle reports supporting Head of Admin Unit in planning and monitoring of field trips and seek opportunities to increase fleet’s operational activities;
  • Ensure appropriate steps required by UNDP rules and regulations are taken in case of traffic accident;
  • Responsible for maintenance of inventory related to vehicle equipment;
  • Responsible for creation of Travel Request/Claims for international drives when NPSA Roster drivers are used;
  • Ensures support in office related transportations (equipment, furniture, relocation of equipment and office relocation, etc);
  • Follow up and ensure that all security rules and regulations are implemented;
  • Perform other duties within incumbent’s functional profile as assigned and deemed necessary for the efficient functioning of the office and Organization

Driver will work under the overall guidance and supervision of the Head of Admin Unit and direct supervision of the Head of Banja Luka Office.

Required Skills and Experience
Min. Education requirements
  •     Secondary Education with a valid driver’s license is required.

 

Min. years of relevant work experience 
  • Minimum of 3 years’ (with secondary education) of work experience as a professional driver;
  • Safe driving record;
  • Experience in using fleet management systems – assignment of vehicles and driving, monitoring;
  • Experience in preparation and monitoring of vehicle data reports (maintenance, fuel consumption and similar).
Required   skills 
  • Provide records of knowledge of driving rules and regulations and skills in minor vehicle repair;
  • Experience in the basic use of computers and relevant office software packages (MS Word, Excel, etc) and ability to use web-based management and electronic log, file and/or scheduling systems.

  • Previous working experience in UN, International Organization or Embassy is desirable
  • Experience and knowledge of protocols and security requirements is desired.
Required Language(s)  Fluency in any of local languages (Bosnian/Croatian/Serbian) is required.
