Organizational Setting and Reporting Relationship
The position of Senior IT Officer (Responsible AI Governance) is assigned to the Digital for Development Operations Division (ITOP) within the Information Technology Department. You will be based at our Headquarters in Manila, Philippines.

You will report to the designated International Staff.

Your Role


As a Senior IT Officer (Responsible AI Governance), you will be responsible in ensuring that AI products are developed, deployed, and governed in an ethical and responsible manner.

You will:

  • Responsible AI Framework: Uphold ethical principles, privacy rights, fairness, and transparency in the development and deployment of AI products.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Alignment: Ensure adherence to relevant regulations, industry standards, and organizational policies regarding data privacy, security, fairness, transparency, accountability, and non-discrimination.
  • Risk Assessment and Mitigation: Identify and address potential ethical, technical, operational, and societal risks associated with AI products throughout their lifecycle.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various teams including data scientists, engineers, product managers, legal/compliance professionals, and ethicists to ensure responsible AI development and deployment.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Maintain comprehensive documentation of AI product specifications, ethical assessments, risk analyses, compliance requirements, and performance metrics, and provide regular reports to management and the steering committee.
  • Portal Development and Management: Develop and manage a compliance checking portal to streamline and facilitate adherence processes.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive initiatives to enhance responsible AI governance practices, processes, and methodologies through industry best practices and stakeholder feedback.
  • Stakeholder Engagement and Transparency: Engage internal stakeholders, senior management, and external partners to solicit feedback, address concerns, and foster trust and transparency in AI products.

Qualifications

You will need:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • At least 8 years work experience and at least 4 years of supervisory experience
  • Proven experience in product management, product control, or IT governance, with a track record of integrating ethical considerations and risk management into product development processes.
  • Good understanding of AI technologies, ethical frameworks, regulatory requirements, and emerging best practices in responsible AI governance.
  • Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, decision-making, communication, collaboration, and stakeholder engagement skills. Ability to effectively communicate technical concepts and ethical considerations to diverse audiences.

Additional Information

This is a fixed term appointment with option to renew for an initial period of three (3) years following Section 3.1 (b) of Administrative Order No. 2.01 (“Recruitment and Appointment’). This appointment is not convertible to a regular appointment. It may be extended on an exceptional basis for a further fixed period at the option of ADB. This appointment is open to internal and external applicants.
