As a (Senior) Gender Specialist (Private Sector), you will provide technical and coordination support to CCGE and the Private Sector Operations Department (PSOD) by supporting and facilitating the broad spectrum of knowledge management across CCGE, with a focus on private sector operations, which straddles operational support to private sector teams, innovative knowledge products, technical assistance, capacity development, external partnerships, associated briefing, and other duties as required.
You will:
Gender Mainstreaming in Project Preparation and Administration:
? Review project concept papers as a OneADB team member (or peer reviewer) to identify potential for gender mainstreaming designs, provide technical advice to
borrowers/clients on how to integrate gender designs in projects under processing, and contribute to preparation of project gender assessments and action plans (GAAP).
? Actively support project deal teams to monitor projects under administration, providing client support for effective implementation of project GAPs, and assist in systematic monitoring of gender performance results across the private sector portfolio.
? Contribute to assessment of gender results at project completion, conducting assessment of gender results and preparing the inputs for project completion reports.
? Contribute to the processing, implementation and overall management of gender-related technical assistance projects.
Organizational Policy and Systems
? Review ADB-wide policy, strategy and other documents and provide feedback to ensure quality, consistency and from a private sector gender and development perspective.
? Contribute to documenting and submission of private sector gender equality success stories and lessons learned for preparation of ADB Annual Report, Development Effectiveness Report, or other relevant reporting.
? Represent the CCGE private sector gender equality team in contributing to internal corporate discussions.
Partnerships, Knowledge and Capacity Building
? Contribute to the development of knowledge resources (e.g. tip-sheets, case-studies, blogs, tools and templates) and flagship knowledge events focused on gender lens investing and wider gender equality in the private sector.
? Support knowledge dissemination, capacity assessment and capacity-building activities for private sector colleagues internally as well as externally with clients and other stakeholders and liaise to build strategic partnerships, in collaboration with CCGE colleagues, with women’s organizations, multilateral and bilateral development partners, and private sector stakeholders to advance gender equality in the private sector.
Staff Supervision
? Provide leadership, guidance and support to national and administrative staff, including supervising the performance, ongoing learning and development of reporting staff.
? Any other tasks that may be assigned by the Director, Gender Equality Division.
You will need: ? Master’s degree or equivalent in social science, economics, development finance, or other related fields with an emphasis on gender and development issues; or University and at least 5 years specialized experience from similar organization/s, can be considered.
? At least 10 years work experience in gender and development, including some experience in private sector development finance, preferably with expertise at the field level incorporating gender mainstreaming into private sector projects. International experience working in several countries.
? Demonstrated expertise in developing gender lens investing tools and engaging with private sector stakeholders in building and implementing gender equality initiatives would be an advantage.
? International experience working in development in several countries, preferably with a multilateral development bank or an international finance institution.
? Excellent written and verbal proficiency in English.
