Responsibilities: 

  • Along with collaboration with the Case Management Specialist, Child protection technical advisor, and SCI partner, the Case Management Supervisor will support establishing a Case Management System in the Gaza.
  • Support the identification and registration of vulnerable children in need of individual support and counselling.
  • Ensure with the Caseworker that all registered children have a comprehensive assessment and case plan according to the CM Standard Operation Procedures and principles and at the appropriate time based on their risk level.
  • Regularly meet with the caseworker, case management specialist, and SCI Case Management partner teams to discuss individual cases, including case-by-case meetings, case conference meetings, and case review meetings.
  • Together with the Case Management Caseworker and SCI partner, the Case Management Supervisor will set up and regularly update map services to which children and families can be referred and support the establishment of functional referral pathways.
  • Along with the caseworker, the CM supervisor ensures prompt referral of all cases to appropriate services based on assessment and case plan.
  • Make sure that identified children exposed to high levels of risk to their lives and safety are reported immediately to the Case Management Specialist and responded with the provision of necessary services (including Children at risk of violence, abuse, neglect, and exploitation).
  • In collaboration with the SCI and partners Child Protection teams, establish and maintain relationships with key informants and community-based mechanisms.
  • Work closely with key informants, community-based mechanisms, and parents and caregivers on developing their parenting skills, understanding, and responding to the psychosocial challenges that they and their children may be facing.
  • Ensure that all data related to registered cases is entered into the CM database and that each case has a corresponding case file, including identification and registration, assessment, case plan, implementation of case plan, follow-up, and closure.
  • Commitment to Information Sharing Protocol in all steps of referrals.
  • Support, coach, and mentor SCI Staff, Partner staff, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure quality interventions for children in need with child protection concerns.
  • Provide technical input and deliver activities in the area of child and family-focused protection, psychosocial support, youth-adolescent life skills, community child protection mechanisms, and capacity building, including integrated work with other SC sectors and SC partners.
  • Draft weekly, monthly, progress, and other reports, as required.
  • Prepare financial and administrative documentation related to project activities, such as purchase and procurement requests, etc.
  • Inform the CM specialist and CP TA about any challenges, difficulties, and concerns in the implementation of activities or issues in the social context.
  • Always ensure a strict adherence to the principles of child protection and child safeguarding, including respect for confidentiality and always acting in the best interests of the child.
  • Comply with Save the Children policies and practices with respect to Child safeguarding, child protection and case management principles, code of conduct, and other relevant policies and procedures.
  • In agreement with the CM specialist and CP TA, perform other required duties within reason (in line with your skills and experience).

Requirements: 

? Bachelor’s degree in social work, child development/psychology, sociology, or another relevant field.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS

Essential:

  • At least three years of experience preferably in child protection case management, childcare, and/ or working with vulnerable families, caregivers, communities, and individuals.
  • NGO experience preferable.
  • Experience and/or excellent understanding of child rights, child protection, case management, psychosocial support, and child and youth development.
  • Proven experience in psychosocial support to individuals and interaction with families, including counselling.
  • Proven experience in capacity building, coordinating activities, developing plans, and drafting reports.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, and capacity to maintain relations with community leaders, members, children, and youth.
  • Proficiency in computer use including Microsoft Office and Excel.
