Responsibilities: 

The role of this position is to act as legal and compliance officer ensuring compliance with different laws and regulations governing the company and making sure that it is up to date with all the licensing and reportorial requirements. This position shall provide legal services for the organization, including the provision of legal advice/legal opinions, representing the organization in administrative, quasi-judicial and judicial proceedings, preparation/review and processing of legal documents, perform legal research, liaising with regulatory agencies and other relevant entities and institutions, as well as assistance in corporate housekeeping and board requirements. This position shall act also as Fraud Focal Person.

Requirements: 

  • Member of the Philippine Bar
  • Well-versed and knowledgeable of all applicable laws, rules and regulations, particularly on laws, rules and regulations affecting non-profit or non-government organizations, with excellent legal research skills.
  • Ability to work within several statutory frameworks and apply relevant legal principles to diverse issues.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant Microsoft office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Strong planning and organizational skills. Ability to plan ahead, devise and manage work plans, anticipate requirements and obstacles, juggle competing priorities successfully under time pressure
  • Ability to draft well-written, professionally presented correspondence on behalf of the Chair or other members of the Board, strong eye for detail
  • Ability to liaise and communicate effectively with a broad range of people at all levels, across different cultures and to act with credibility, discretion, tact and diplomacy
  • Must be proactive and able to identify issues, legal risks and potential liabilities.
  • Must have high organizational skills, detail oriented and capable in handling tasks on schedule.
  • Must have strong verbal and written communication skills as well as good interpersonal skills.
  • Will work well under pressure with ability to handle adverse situations as they arise.
  • Sound knowledge of relevant Microsoft office packages (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
  • Flexible, helpful, customer service, approach
  • Maintains a calm disposition and positive outlook particularly when working under pressure. Comfortable to say when necessary and be result-oriented.
