Responsibilities:

The intern is to report to the Medical Officer in the Health and Well-being Unit (HWU) of the Human Resources Management Section (HRMS) under the Division of Administration (DA). The internship is UNPAID and full-time. The intern will work five days per week (35 hours) with the Health and Well-being Unit’s planning team under the direct supervision of a staff member in the unit. Duties may include, but are not limited to: – Provide logistical and administrative support to the Unit’s planned 1-day health and wellness event. – Maintain and strengthen the database of external health care partners and invitation lists. – Follow up with external health care partners to confirm their participation and address any logistical or informational needs they may have. – Maintain a database of partner contacts and communication logs. – Help draft and finalize the agenda/programme related to the event. – Help draft and disseminate promotional materials and updates related to the events through various channels (email, social media, digital posters, etc.). – Prepare and distribute event materials such as agendas, programmes, and participants’ information packages. – Provide logistical support that includes coordination of booking of rooms/venues with the Conference Management Unit, printing background materials, managing RSVPs, etc. – Provide on-site support during the event, including registration, attendee assistance, and coordination with all external health care participants. – Assist in troubleshooting and resolving any issues that may arise during the events. – Providing administrative support to other planned health-related activities of the unit.

Requirements:

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); (b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent). Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience. However, a field of study that is closely related to the type of internship that you are applying for is required. Ability to assist in the planning and coordination of school or community events is desirable

Languages

English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. Fluency in spoken and written English is required for the internship. Knowledge of Thai language is an advantage.
