Responsibilities:

  • Search for grant opportunities at align with the business plan of the Texas offices.
  • Conduct Go/No Go meetings for all grant opportunities.
  • Maintains accurate and timely records within internal database systems.
  • Write and submit grant proposals.
  • Work with Programs and Finance departments on the development of all budget proposals for grants and propose budget modifications throughout the year as needed.
  • Submit all documents needed by HQ for grants to be approved internally.
  • Form and maintain relationships with community partners and donors.
  • Maintain a broad and deep understanding of donor policies, regulations and procedures and build this knowledge among programs team members.
  • Developing relationships with sub awardees, performing due diligence, and developing subaward agreements.
  • Ensure proper representation of the Grant department views in strategic cross-departmental projects within IRC by building strong relationships among relevant staff members.
  • Participate in all program meetings, staff development activities, and fully engage as a member of the team.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in related field strongly preferred.
  • At least 2 years of progressive responsibilities in grant writing, budgeting, managing federal and/or state grants, and donor relations experience required.
  • Previous non-profit agency / grant-funded environment experience strongly preferred.
  • Prior team management experience & knowledge of donor regulations strongly preferred.
  • Experience working with and influencing, senior colleagues to tackle complex challenges and agreed mutually beneficial decisions.
  • High degree of professional integrity, ability, and commitment to maintain confidentiality of sensitive data.
  • Solid organizational skills: detail-oriented, ability to multi-task, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently, be flexible and work well under pressure in a fast-paced team environment.
  • Strong training, facilitation, and coaching skills preferred.

Good interpersonal skills: ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural environment.

Ability to:

  • Maintain relationships with community partners and donors.
  • Establish and maintain cooperative, effective, and friendly working environments.
  • Work independently with minimum supervision and meet schedule and timeline.
  • Operate a computer and all office equipment assigned for work efficiency.
