Responsibilities:

 

Support Partnership Advisory and Support Services (PASS) team by conducting due diligence assessments.

  • Support the due diligence process for UNICEF funding and non-funding private sector engagements by conducting screening reviews and reports as needed. Ensure that assessments and reports are done in accordance with UNICEF guidelines and policies and that content is meeting qualitative standards and organized in an audience-informed way.
  • Respond to specific due diligence queries from National Committees, country offices, regional offices and select HQ divisions.

Provide ad-hoc intelligence work related to UNICEF private sector engagements.

  • Support research and analysis of market information in the context of corporate and wider private sector engagement proposals review.
  • Conduct additional research on potential corporate and private sector partners and related issues such as market trends and internal trends for use in briefings, meetings, presentations, etc.
  • Identify relevant information (from both internal and external sources) on ethical business and sustainability issues and ensure prompt dissemination to private sector due diligence users and other colleagues concerned with business engagement work.

Develop content dissemination and communication related to corporate research and due diligence team’s work.

  • Develop content and upload information related to UNICEF corporate research and due diligence on the UNICEF Intranet, Internet, CRM, and other relevant platforms.
  • Support the team in harmonizing DD reports and ensuring quality of communication.
  • Contribute into data and trend analysis to support the PASS team’s input into policy and positioning on matters related to UNICEF’s engagement with the private sector.

Support capacity building of countries for corporate and private sector research and due diligence through development of training materials and provision of training sessions.

  • Support the development of materials for trainings and workshops by drafting presentations, briefing notes, and other tools.
  • Assist the PASS colleagues in development of content and execution of training/onboard sessions, development of factsheets, briefing notes, and other meeting material.
  • Support in developing and updating due diligence guidance notes and other position pieces related to due diligence around UNICEF’s engagement with business.

Requirements:

Education:

  • A first-level University Degree in one of the following fields is required: Social or Political Sciences, Law, International Relations, Communication, Human Rights, market research or another related technical field.

Experience:

  • A minimum of two years of professional work experience in corporate social responsibility, market research, due diligence or related areas is required.
  • Proven experience in conducting or managing research and in preparing due diligence reports is an asset.
  • Fundraising/marketing communication experience in an international organization is an asset.
  • Familiarity with child rights and child rights programming is an asset.
  • Familiarity with Corporate Social Responsibility and/or Environment/Social/Governance (ESG) frameworks is an asset.
  • Knowledge of UNICEF programmes and activities is an asset.
  • UN/UNICEF experience is an asset.

Language requirement:

  • Fluency and proven written skills in English is required.
  • Knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian, or Spanish) is an asset.
