Responsibilities:

Country-Level Technical Assistance

  • Provide targeted technical assistance to CHAI country teams to support identified priorities, develop resources and consolidate evidence on emerging issues, and provide analytical and strategic support to advance program goals.
  • Participate in and contribute to in-country processes and activities (e.g., guideline reviews, forecasting and quantification meetings, technical working groups), with a particular focus on sharing market intelligence and translating regional and global learnings and best practices into operational and technical guidance, to accelerate the uptake of impactful HIV treatments and delivery models.
  • Structure and develop quantitative and qualitative analyses to inform the design and execution of targeted technical assistance (e.g., introducing new medications, implementing new service delivery models) to address priority gaps and support HIV treatment goals at the country level.
  • Develop and deliver clear presentations (verbal and written) to share findings and recommendations for internal and external audiences, including potentially senior stakeholders at CHAI and within program country governments.

Project and Relationship Management

  • Manage multiple complex and diverse relationships simultaneously, and serve as the primary liaison between country teams and the Global HIV Access Program for all things related to HIV treatment.
  • Support country teams to manage and monitor progress against program and grant deliverables through regular joint reviews of program strategy and progress, supporting workplan development and monitoring, and troubleshooting challenges as needed.
  • Manage, coordinate, and develop inputs for routine reporting and donor updates, as well as ad hoc reporting needs, including requesting, reviewing, and consolidating data from CHAI countries and partners.
  • Elevate issues, recurring themes, and/or roadblocks to the HIV Treatment and Market Intelligence Associate Director as needed to minimize risks to project outcomes.

Communications, Knowledge Management, and Cross-Team Learning

  • Maintain up to date expertise regarding the HIV treatment pipeline and delivery space and support knowledge management across the team, including potentially presenting on internal CHAI calls.
  • As needed, work with CHAI teams and partners to plan and execute communication, learning, and knowledge management processes and activities, including cross-country knowledge sharing engagements, developing conference abstracts/manuscripts, etc.
  • Support HIV Treatment and Market Intelligence Associate Director in fostering a collaborative team environment which supports and engages team members.

Requirements: 

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in relevant field, including (but not limited to) public health, public policy, global health, economics, business, pharmacy, social/hard sciences, etc. Candidates with alternative educational backgrounds are also encouraged to apply
  • At least five years of working experience conducting rigorous analyses and forming insights into clear external deliverables, managing complex projects and stakeholder relationships, and providing strategic guidance or supporting business strategy
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills, with proven ability to build and maintain strong relationships in a diverse environment and navigate complex political situations
  • Strong “hands-on” work ethic and willingness to get into the weeds of complex problems to find solutions
  • Meticulous organizational skills with the ability to simultaneously manage multiple complex tasks with a high degree of uncertainty; set and adjust priorities; and work independently with a strong attention to detail
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate key takeaways, effectively translate insights based on target audience, and comfort in delivering succinct and engaging verbal presentations with potentially little preparatory notice
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, PowerPoint and Word, including strong data visualization skills using these platforms or others
  • Patience and thoughtfulness even in high-pressure, stressful situations
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel, with potential for last-minute trips (up to 50%)
