Purpose of Job

The Principal, Data Cleansing and Migration Lead will support the Associate Director, HR Transformation to manage the data activities relating to data quality assessment, collection, cleansing, transformation and migration for the Compass HROD programme.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

As the Data Lead the role holder will:

  • Deliver activities relating to data quality assessment, collection, cleansing, transformation and migration
  • Be responsible for ensuring accurate data is passed to configuration partners for environment builds to enable testing and go live
  • Work with the business to identify the data that is needed for the new solution
  • Assess the current quality of data to identify if data gaps exist and agree on an approach and plan for how these will be managed
  • Support the data collection, cleanse, translation and creation to help ensure that the data needed is provided in a timely manner and to the quality required
  • Responsible for managing all workstream project activities and artefacts
  • Ensure all workstream activities are correctly documented, audited and signed-off in line with compliance needs
  • Work closely with the key stakeholders and our transformation advisory partner
  • Identify, diagnosing and facilitating the resolution of risks and issues across the workstream
  • Provide functional expertise and guidance as required
  • Safeguard transformation design standards and principles against competing requests and priorities
  • Be responsible for the delivery and status reporting of the workstream

Deliverables

Programme governance

  • Providing input to artefacts as per the EBRD programme governance process including briefing and planning documents
  • Working with the HR Transformation Solution Lead and other workstream leads to ensure a consistent and cohesive solution design
  • Prepare recommendations with supporting evidence and/or rationale to go to the programme steering committee for a decision

Act as a workstream lead, as directed, and single point of contact (SPOC)

  • Be responsible for the outcomes as well as the outputs of allocated workstream (i.e. deliver the valuable outcome, not just the task)
  • Apply the appropriate project management approach and principles including risk management, planning activities and status updating, in collaboration with programme PMO
  • Provide written and verbal updates on project progress to a range of stakeholders at all levels as required (including daily stand ups and weekly team meetings) in collaboration with the programme PMO

Design Deliverables:

  • Defines the data collection, cleanse, transformation and migration strategy
  • Defines the data dictionary for data field requirements
  • Defines the data taxonomy and master data structures
  • Owns the delivery of the data gathering workbooks

Implementation Deliverables:

  • Owns the data collection and quality review
  • Owns the delivery and population of configuration data workbooks for prototypes
  • Owns local data engagement and employee collection/validation
  • Transforms and prepare data for submission to supplier(s)
  • Updates data collection workbooks in line with updated solution design
  • Audits and resolves employee data issues with local data owners.

Deployment Deliverables:

  • Supports data cutover activities
  • Supports integration workstream and internal support team with post go-live queries
  • Monitors post go-live queries for remedial activities.

Manage relationships and stakeholders

  • Act as a trusted adviser and single point of contact (SPOC) for the data workstream for the HROD department and other key stakeholders of the HR Transformation
  • Co-ordinate and facilitate high quality engagement between all parties to interrogate and reconcile conflicts in order to secure buy-in and not just sign-off.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • In-depth data analysis skills (data structure and standardisation for cloud HR technology implementations)
  • Significant experience working with large volumes of data across multiple geographies and systems
  • Ability to work with local data owners to understand the current data landscape to assess quality and completeness in order to define the data collection, cleanse and migration strategy and approach.
  • Work with information security colleagues to ensure personally sensitive data is done appropriately
  • Ability to work with Retention and Records Management colleagues to align data preparation work to retention policies
  • HR Cloud project experience
  • A strong awareness of data management and preparation practices and approaches within the context of a HR transformation programme
  • Experience with HR system and financial data structures in SAP and SuccessFactors
  • Knowledge of data structures, mapping and migration techniques in/from SAP and SuccessFactors
  • Knowledge of data structure inter-dependencies in SAP and SuccessFactors
  • Knowledge of functional eligibility rules and how this impacts and forms checks as part of the data load process
  • Strong facilitation and influencing skills across all levels and job functions
  • Stakeholder management skills.

  • Self-starting, proactive and collaborative approach to analysing and solving problems
  • Experience of working within Waterfall and Agile methodologies / frameworks
  • Experience of communicating and working collaboratively with colleagues at all levels of the organisation to deliver sustainable change

  • Excellent attention to detail, particularly in the context of document development and data analysis
  • Proven track record of managing and resolving competing priorities
  • Excellent written and oral English language skills
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience of transformation in an HR context
  • Knowledge and experience of cross functional working on both HR and finance processes an advantage
