Reporting line

The positions will work under the direct supervision of the Programme & Operations Officer of Better Work Pakistan under the overall guidance of the Programme Manager of Better Work Pakistan. The Country Director of the ILO Office in Pakistan (CO-Islamabad) is the Responsible Chief. Judgement, initiative and creativity are required in translating project tools and approaches into training materials. The work product is controlled by the supervisor for technical soundness and appropriateness.

Specific Duties

• Coordinate the development of training and capacity building activities and support mate-rials and ensure that they are applicable to the Pakistan apparel sector needs;
• Oversee, coordinate and deliver a range of remediation training and capacity-building ini-tiatives, including classroom-based training activities for improvement purposes;
• Liaise with the Better Work Global Learning Team to ensure the quality of service provi-sion and sharing of materials and best practices;
• Liaise and maintain contacts with international buyers and other ILO/UN programme part-ners on a range of training and capacity building and labour law-related matters;
• Collaborate with technical specialists and consultants on various project activities;
• Monitor the quality of delivery of the training programmes and provide regular feedback to the service provider;
• Provide high-quality enterprise-level services designed to improve enterprise perfor-mance, including coaching, facilitating management and worker management improve-ment committees, and providing technical advice;
• Participate in the preparation of periodic implementation reports, work plans, and technical progress reports;
• Establish and help maintain relevant databases, and collect, organize and collate infor-mation and disseminate information when required;
• Based on identified needs, provide high-quality, enterprise-level advisory services de-signed to improve enterprise performance;
• Assist with monitoring and evaluation of project implementation;
• Other duties as required by the Programme Manager.

Education

University degree in adult education, international development, human resource management, law or other relevant fields.

Experience

At least two years’ work experience in a training or capacity-building role, including one year with an international agency or in the private sector, corporate social responsibility (particularly in the field of labour standards compliance and remediation) or other relevant fields.

Languages

Excellent English and Urdu. Other native languages will be an added advantage.

Competencies

Good knowledge and experience of the design and application of monitoring and evaluation frameworks and modalities, as well as of application of monitoring and evaluation concepts and techniques;
Good knowledge of development and use of indicators;
Good knowledge and experience of results-based management and reporting for results;
Good knowledge of programme and budget, project formulation, implementation, monitoring, review and evaluation; Knowledge and Competencies (technical and behavioural)
Knowledge of resource mobilization.
Political awareness and understanding of socio-economic factors.
Knowledge of methods and techniques for designing and assessing quality and efficiency of process execution.
Good knowledge of PC software (including word processor, spreadsheet and presentation software) such as Microsoft Office.
