PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:
World Vision Ireland are looking to add another Hosted Staff member to their current Finance team. The Finance Assistant role will work closely with the Finance Analyst & Team Lead to support with fundraising data entry, month end duties, financial reconciliations, project and programme support and analysis to inform decision making and meet compliance requirements of the Support Office.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Data Entry, Month End Duties & Financial Reconciliations

  • Responsible for weekly data entry uploads of fundraising donations via payment platforms into CRM system.
  • Responsible for the monthly recording of all voluntary income into ERP system.
  • Responsible for the monthly recording of all grant/programme’s income into ERP system.
  • Responsible for the monthly calculation of all payment platforms fees and charges from voluntary donations into ERP system.
  • Responsible for the monthly recording of all income receipts into ERP system.
  • Assist with the monthly reconciliation of Accounts Receivable.
  • Assist with the monthly reconciliation of all bank accounts.

Project & Programmes Support and Analysis

  • Assist in the preparation of providing monthly & quarterly grant financial reports to ensure targets are met, including maintenance of the Grants Dashboard.
  • Assist with closing off projects that have reached their end dates in accordance with WVIRE compliance guidelines.
  • Engage with relevant stakeholders including the Field Offices to resolve documentation and financial gaps relating to ongoing projects.

Regular and Ad Hoc Duties

  • Attend and participate in meetings, team events and conference that may be assigned
  • Attend and participate in chapel services, daily and group devotions
  • Promote World Vision’s values through example and hold self and others accountable for the same across the team
  • Perform all other duties that may be assigned.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s or University Degree in Accounting or Finance and/or related field
  • Minimum one-year experience, ideally in an international NGO environment, multilateral organization or an international audit/accounting environment.
  • Experience in working with people from different levels and functions in the organization.
  • Has experience working in a multi-cultural, geographically dispersed work environment and is able to work with several functional managers or stakeholders.
  • Has knowledge and experience in all areas of finance and accounting, preferably in an international development, non-profit or multinational organization
  • Has advanced knowledge and is highly skilled in MS Office Suite (especially MS Excel)
  • Has the ability to understand multiple data sources and how they relate to each other
  • Able to work with several functional managers or stakeholders and can effectively communicate with all levels in the organization (verbally and in writing)
  • Demonstrated ability to think independently and critically, self-learn and self-manage, and perform detailed and complex analysis.
  • Has the confidence and competence to identify problems and recommend solutions and best practices.
  • Has very strong analytical, problem-solving, multi-tasking and organizational skills Bachelor’s or University Degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • Proficient in MS Excel, PowerPoint and knowledge of PowerBI is preferred. Skilled in preparing financial/project reports on a timely basis.
