JOB SUMMARY:
Your responsibilities
CERN’s Large Hadron Collider (LHC) is undergoing a major upgrade to extend its service life and boost its performance, and we need you to help make it happen! The Experimental Physics department’s Detector Technologies (DT) group is developing the future ATLAS ITk Pixel detector, which requires advanced materials, lightweight technologies, and innovative design solutions to meet strict mass and thermal performance requirements.
As a mechanical technician, you will contribute to the EP-DT group’s activities in this project. Your functions will include:
You will have access to state-of-the-art CAD, engineering tools, and manufacturing facilities (e.g. mechanical workshops, rapid prototyping, and composites lab), and will work under the close supervision of experienced CERN staff, interacting daily with the group’s technical team and collaborating with institutes and industrial partners.
