JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the direct supervision and guidance of the Child Rights and Business Programme Officer, the consultant will provide quality conduct of Child Rights and Business Principles Training to twenty (20) UNICEF government Partners (DOLE, DTI & SEC for the implementation of the Child Rights and Business Programme strategy.

At the moment, reference materials and presentations are already available. The role of the consultant will also to tailor-fit this reference documents to the target audience of this training, who are mid-level and senior level technical focal points from government agencies of DOLE, DTI, and SEC.

Output 1: Training Needs assessment conducted to tailor fit the CRBP training program

  • Identifying knowledge and skills gaps of the participants with regards to human rights and business & child rights and business principles (including understanding basic child rights and impact assessment to businesses).
  • Addressing specific needs of the participants of the training.
  • Optimizing training investments through ensuring topics are well covered and focused based on initial knowledge and experiences of the participants.
  • Prioritizing training needs and creating targeted learning experience.

Output 2: Co-developed Training Design

  • Based on the results on the training needs assessment and using / utilizing available resources for the training, the consultant will co-developed CRBP Training design for the government partners of UNICEF. The design will evolved around:
  • CRBP Principles as it relates to human rights and business principles
  • Information about global standards, international laws, internal and national legal frameworks that support child rights and human rights in environment/ community, workplace, and marketplace
  • Introduction to Family-friendly policies
  • Role of government regulators and businesses in promoting child rights (children in the value chain, supply chain, in the workplace.
  • Re-entry action plans as government agency champions to promote child-rights
  • The training design shall also incorporate a session on potential entry points of CRBP in the programs/ mandates/ units/ bureaus of DTI, DOLE and SEC. Entry points can be within implementation of family friendly policies, sustainability / ESG, corporate governance, MSME and business development and investments.
  • The training design shall also include:
  • listing of supplies and materials to be used,
  • ICT/ innovative/ interactive methodologies for the training,
  • Template for processed documentation, and
  • Pre-test and Post-test questionnaire (to be completed online).

Output 3: Co-development of training modules, presentations, guides, and tools for CRB Training based on the technical documents to be shared by UNICEF.

  • Development of branded training modules/ facilitation guide
  • Development of PowerPoint presentations

Output 4: Training co-facilitation

  • Provide quality training co-facilitation for 6 days.
  • Co-facilitation tasks will be divided within the CRBP officer by :
  • 50% split of topics, lectures and workshops
  • 50%- secretariat services

Output 5: Training Report and Training Evaluation

  • Processed documentation report
  • Training evaluation results, including re-entry plans of the participants

Technical Deliverables

  1. Training needs assessment questionnaire and results
  2. Training Design
  3. Pre and Post test questionnaire and Guide
  4. Training processed document report/ Training evaluation (including recommendations).

Qualifications and Competencies of Successful Consultant:

  • Graduate of social sciences, public administration, business administration band management.

Knowledge/Expertise/Skills Required:

  • Has 2 to 3 years combined experience in private sector engagement (corporate social responsibility, corporate governance, ESG, CSO/ corporate foundations ) and human rights, child rights and development work. Can also include work/ experience in working or partnership with government business / enterprise regulators.
  • Knowledge on human rights and Business, child rights and Business.
