JOB SUMMARY:
The Portfolio Director is a member of the Senior Management Team for the Middle East and North Africa, Eastern Europe and Latin America and the Caribbean (MENA-EE-LAC) regional office. This position has accountability for countries and projects in the MENA sub-region. The position also supports the entire MENA-EE-LAC region in the sharing of project data and knowledge and systematic collection and utilization of business intelligence and local insights. The position will report to the Vice President for the MENA-EE-LAC region.

Country and Project Oversight: The primary responsibility of the Portfolio Director is to develop, implement and oversee management of projects in the MENA sub-region. This includes ensuring operational and financial performance and project results, generating funding to sustain the organization and fulfill its mission, and maintaining compliance with relevant regulations and policies. The Portfolio Director provides operations oversight and is a primary FHI 360 representative across multiple sectors for the MENA sub-region. Liaises as appropriate with government agencies, country missions, local government(s), international organizations, and other funders and stakeholders. Contributes to FHI 360’s business and resource development efforts in the specified geography/countries and ensures or leverages landscape scoping and analysis and strategic planning. Provides program and project management services including mentoring, project management best practices, tools, and templates. Organizes cross-functional and inter-regional activities ensuring efficacy of the project(s)/programmatic objectives.
Project Knowledge, Business Intelligence and Local Insights, M&E and Communication: The Portfolio Director works across the MENA-EE-LAC region to enhance knowledge sharing, improve country and regional level insights, and ensure effective internal and external communication. Promotes effective use of data, identifies and facilitates sharing of key technical approaches, and collaborates with corporate teams as appropriate. Keeps abreast of country-level business intelligence across the MENA-EE-LAC region and communicates to Business Development and Partnership leads.
The MENA-EE-LAC Regional Office is a majority virtual unit. Candidates based in the Middle East and North Africa will be favorably considered.
