Junior Professional Associates – Program Description

The Junior Professionals Associate Program (JPA) offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to embark on a professional journey, providing a three-year contract with valuable work experience within a diverse and dynamic environment and the potential of field work experience. The program is an excellent platform to sharpen your existing skills and to develop new ones, all while gaining a profound understanding of the challenges associated with reducing poverty and fostering shared prosperity on a livable planet.

The following are minimum requirements to be eligible for the JPA program:

Be 32 years of age or younger

Hold a bachelor’s degree

The JPA program at the World Bank is a highly competitive initiative. Specific Unit Description – BPSCF – Corporate Budget Planning and External Funds Unit

BPSCF unit is managing corporate budget framework including Bank’s budget construction and process, resource allocation, Bank’s indicative expenditure and budget distribution, centrally managed accounts’ (CMA) planning and reporting, and overall Bank’s budget monitoring, evaluation, and reporting. Unit is also overseeing corporate resource management policies, cost recovery and external funds management and sustainability that includes External funds’ (EF) Policy and advisory, EF processes, EF data governance, EF analytics, co-financing, and RAS. As the BPS Center of Expertise (COE) BPSCF unit plays an important role in strengthening of BPS staff capacity and improvement of budget processes and approaches, governance, policies, systems and data management.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Support BPSCF on issues related to External Funds. In particular:

• Analyze internal and external data related to External Funds at the World Bank and other organizations (primarily MDBs and UN organizations);

• Review accounting, budgeting and cost allocation practices across MDBs and UN Organizations;

• Support EF team on issues related to report preparation, design and presentation;

• Support BPSCF Manager on ad-hoc requests as required.

Selection Criteria

• Proficient in English

• BA/MA in finance, accounting, business, statistics or digital and data;

• Strong proven analytical skills and knowledge of Excel; Power BI, AO

• Experience of other reporting, statistical and/or analytical tools an advantage.
