Junior Professional Associates – Program Description
The Junior Professionals Associate Program (JPA) offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to embark on a professional journey, providing a three-year contract with valuable work experience within a diverse and dynamic environment and the potential of field work experience. The program is an excellent platform to sharpen your existing skills and to develop new ones, all while gaining a profound understanding of the challenges associated with reducing poverty and fostering shared prosperity on a livable planet.

The following are minimum requirements to be eligible for the JPA program:
  • Be 32 years of age or younger
  • Hold a bachelor’s degree
  • Be fluent in English
The JPA program at the World Bank is a highly competitive initiative. Country Management Unit Context

The World Bank’s GCC Country Department is the principal liaison between the World Bank and the six Arab States of the Gulf Cooperation Council, namely Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates. The GCC Country Department facilitates the provision of Reimbursable Advisory Services (RAS) from the Bank to the GCC countries, the GCC Secretariat and GCC affiliated institutions. The GCC Country Department is managed through four offices: a Regional Office in Riyadh, KSA, a Country Office in Kuwait, a Country Office in Abu Dhabi UAE, and an HQ unit in the World Bank HQ in Washington, D.C. The JPA will be based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Duties and Responsibilities
The Junior Professional Associate will support the Country Director in the following areas:
  • Package Review and Summarization
    • Review packages and documents for the Country Director.
    • Summarize key points and highlight critical issues for quick reference.
  • Meeting Coordination and Minute Taking
    • Attend meetings with the Country Director and take accurate and comprehensive minutes.
    • Follow up on action items and ensure timely completion.
  • Preparation of Briefing Notes
    • Prepare detailed briefing notes for the Country Director, ensuring all relevant information is included.
  • Background Research
    • Conduct thorough background research as requested by the Country Director.
    • Provide concise and relevant information to aid in decision-making processes.

Selection Criteria

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Political Science, Communication, or a related field.
  • Proven experience as an executive assistant or similar role.
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • High level of discretion and confidentiality.
