JOB SUMMARY:

Result of Service
A: Results Based Management is supported Deliverables: • Analyses and written outputs (e.g for concept notes, proposals, strategic/programme documents, logical frameworks, presentations, conference room papers (CoSP, IRG, etc.), briefing/speaking notes, etc.) are of high quality and submitted in time. • Monitoring and evaluation guidelines and tools are updated and promoted. • Guidance and training on pre- and post-training assessment delivered. Output B: Continuous and systematic monitoring is ensured Deliverables: • CEB project data is regularly compiled, revised and stored in a systematic and retrievable way. • CEB project data is systematically categorized and analyzed for the purpose of reporting, planning and Output strategic decision making. • Independent project evaluations are supported, and their concrete follow-up coordinated, if/as applicable. Output C: Reports are results based and delivered on time Deliverables: • CEB global programme reports meet results-based standards and are submitted in time. • Other ad-hoc reporting requirements are delivered as requested. • Monthly reports on the progress and/or completion of pre-agreed work assignments are submitted to the supervisor. Output D: CEB achievements are visible and fund-raising is supported Deliverables: • Related communication and visibility products/contents are developed. • Project donor reports meet results-based standards, in line with the agreement, and are submitted in time. • Donor/steering committee meetings are supported. • Fund-raising proposals are developed in an appealing way.

Duties and Responsibilities
Background of the assignment: The Corruption and Economic Crime Branch (CEB) strives to continuously support governments, society at large and the private sector to transform the objectives of the United Nations Convention against Corruption (UNCAC) into reality and to thereby promote effective responses to corruption. Among CEB’s specific objectives the following are to be highlighted: a) to promote further steps towards universal adherence to UNCAC; b) to foster progress in the effective implementation of UNCAC, with UNODC acting as a direct technical assistance provider and/or as a facilitator of the provision of such assistance; and c) to facilitate and support the Implementation Review Mechanism, including with respect to the analysis of technical assistance needs at the country, regional and global levels. All CEB outcomes and outputs have a number of indicators, which must be measured at regular intervals. The appropriate collection of data to satisfy these indicators must be used to demonstrate progress on results to the international community, counterparts and stakeholders in the regions covered. Therefore, an important function of project implementation is to monitor, evaluate and report the impact of activities and deliverables, following a results-based approach and to ensure proper communication and visibility of the results achieved.
Qualifications/special skills
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in law, economics, criminology, journalism or social science (international relations, management, public administration, political science, social anthropology, etc.) is required. A first level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. Ten (10) years of working experience in supporting project management, outreach, donor reporting, and resource mobilization is required. Five (5) years of working experience in monitoring and reporting is required. Sound experience in drafting results-based project reports for donors and other purposes is required. Experience at the international level and in developing countries is desirable. Very good knowledge of MS Office, specifically Excel is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this post, fluency in oral and written English is required. Knowledge of another official United Nations language (Arabic, Chinese, French, Russian or Spanish) is an advantage.
