About this position

We are looking for a motivated, strategic, and innovative professional to join our Resource Mobilization Division (ORP/REM) to coordinate teams from across the IDB Group to enhance the IDB Group’s outreach and partnerships, resource mobilization, and knowledge and communications activities. The position requires a thorough knowledge of the socioeconomic development challenges in the Latin American and Caribbean region and a profound understanding of the implications of diverse activities for the Group’s overall mission.

The REM Division, under the Office of Outreach and Partnerships (ORP), plays a pivotal role in leading the mobilization of additional financing to public and private interventions in the IDB Group, in coordination with Vice Presidencies of Country (VPC), Sector (VPS), Finance and Administration (VPF), respectively, IDB Invest, IDB Lab, and other relevant units. Aligned with the new institutional strategy, “IDBImpact IDBStrategy+”, the team continues to scale up and multiply its efforts to develop and manage partners from the private and emerging sectors towards the creation and promotion of new investment opportunities in and for the LAC region while maintaining relations with the traditional public partners.

  • Support the technical teams in managing the partner/donor relationship during the execution phase of existing partnerships.
  • Enhance existing mobilization efforts by further expanding engagement with partners, including companies, foundations, universities, and non-government organizations, and identifying and mapping new key private players in the development community.
  • Develop and implement partnerships, resource mobilization strategies, and action plans for innovative resource mobilization instruments such as credit substitution guarantees and hybrid capital.
  • Produce and present reports on results and metrics of external outreach and/or stakeholder management efforts as appropriate in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Support the production of key high-level events and seminars as appropriate.
  • Contribute to efforts shaping the IDB Group’s resource mobilization strategy and partnership—or product-specific strategies.
  • Provide guidance and share lessons learned with more junior staff and consultants in outreach, partnerships, and resource mobilization engagement.
