Junior Professional Associates – Program Description

The Junior Professionals Associate Program (JPA) offers an exceptional opportunity for recent graduates to embark on a professional journey, providing a three-year contract with valuable work experience within a diverse and dynamic environment and the potential of field work experience. Specific Unit Description – Human Resources, Talent Attraction (HRDTA): the Young Professionals Program (YPP)

Employment Policy, Compensation and Systems Department that provides an integrated approach to managing employment policy and staff rules, driving compensation and benefit programs, and supporting service solutions, systems, and analytics.
Performance, Career and Learning Department that brings together the entire talent management life cycle to maximize and leverage innovative solutions and strategies for increasing the World Bank’s organizational and individual performance and capabilities.

Duties and Responsibilities

In line with the competencies listed below, we are seeking a highly motivated JPA to support the Young Professional Program in HRDTA, in delivering its functions and mandates. Working closely with the Program Manager/Leads, the JPA will directly interact with internal and external stakeholders. Duties and responsibilities may include (but not be limited to) the following:

• Support the Program Manager/Leads and work program delivery on quantitative and qualitative analyses, presentation productions, briefings and other communications
• Ensure that recruitment methodologies and hiring practices follow organizational policies and procedures to ensure appropriate and fair selection, pre-screening, and post offer assessment.
• Support the annual recruitment cycle including the TOR solicitation process, the recruitment and placement process and facilitation of participant recruitment and retention.
• Support the onboarding process with HR (liaise with the Recruitment Services Team for the letter of appointment and visa process).
• In collaboration with HR Business Partner(s), implement, monitor and report on the YP Career Development and Mobility Framework including staff rotations and recruitments.
• Provide analytical support, manage YP databases, produce periodic and ad hoc reports, develop, and maintain HR and YPP information in line with the applicable policies and guidelines
• Gather and analyze data to support key YPP performance indicators
• Maintain intranet webpage and document repositories
• Develop standard reports illustrating trends, gaps and success factors.
• In consultation with relevant subject matter experts, troubleshoot and problem-solve process and data issues when they arise and develop quality assurance practices to catch and resolve issues.
• Provide support in the outreach and recruitment processes, monitor progress and report on the implementation
• Play an active role in monitoring and managing the implementation of rotations and assignments for the YPs in the YPP
• Maintain an active community for participants and alumni of the programs.
• Maintain and implement key vendor relations and contracts as might be applicable.

Selection Criteria

• Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Human Resource Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Engineering, Finance, or a similar field; or equivalent combination of education and experience
• Strong analytical skills; demonstrated ability to conduct research and analysis; able to articulate issues and recommend solutions to aid management in decision-making
• Sound experience with data science: ability to undertake preprocessing of structured and unstructured data; analyze large amounts of information to discover trends and patterns; Combine models through ensemble modeling; and present information using data visualization techniques
• Ability to support Senior Staff and Managers effectively
• Proficiency in all HR Systems and Microsoft Windows applications, namely Excel, Word and Power Point, including advanced spreadsheet design, lookup tables, manipulation, and analysis skills; knowledge of additional analytical, statistical, and publishing applications is advantageous
• Solid knowledge of core HR areas: compensation/benefits; strategic staffing, learning and training; performance management, career development, staffing and recruitment, and case management
• High levels of willingness and flexibility to engage in all aspects of HR and YPP work, from identification of issues to implementation of solutions
• Strong oral and written communications and presentation skills, ability to translate complex data for a variety of audiences, and experience with preparing client-ready materials
• Strong quality control orientation; attention to detail
• Demonstrated ability to work in a fast paced and dynamic work environment
• Ability to work collaboratively, consultatively and in teams while fully owning and managing own workstream and deliverables in the context of a broader program delivery
• Comfort with change, as well as with the shift in priorities, ambiguity, and operating in complex, multi-stakeholder contexts
• Demonstrated critical thinking and problem-solving skills through quantitative thinking and analysis, as well as qualitative and conceptual thinking, in translating and developing complex data-sets and matters into actionable communications
• Ability to collect, sort and analyze complex data sets, derive key takeaways and present them in engaging data-driven graphics and presentations
• Fully fluent in English language with the ability to communicate complex ideas and concepts succinctly and to produce audience-ready documents and presentations
• Ability to build strong working relationships with counterparts across HRD and the World Bank Group
