JOB SUMMARY

The main areas of accountability and responsibility of this post are to implement the FSL component of the Save the Children’s BHA in the designated province (Nuristan).

RESPONSIBILITIES

 Support capacity building of FSL assistants and FSL beneficiaries.
 Support in the development of project monitoring tools and FSL-related training materials.
 In support of other project staff, finalize the project locations and project beneficiaries targeting strategy and criteria.
 The incambinate will strengthen close coordination with stakeholders, district authorities, and community Shoras for the better implementation of the project.
 Take part in community-based mobilization and sensitization meetings and introduce the FSL component of the project to target communities.
 Take part in the process of beneficiary identification and registration. Based on the skills and knowledge of beneficiaries, recommended feasible Cash for Food beneficiaries.
 Support the Senior FSL officer in the development of the project procurement plan and project detailed implementation plan.
 Support Save the Children’s procurement team in the procurement of required goods that will be distributed to selected beneficiaries.
 Support the livelihood beneficiaries in developing their business plans.
 Support implementation of project baseline, mid-term, and final evaluation.
 Collaborate with FSL Senior officer, FSL assistant and CM(community mobilizers), and MEAL staff to design community mobilization strategy and project implementation plans – including all technical specifications.
 Develop project weekly and monthly narrative reports and submit them to the Senior FSL officer on a timely base.
 Assist joint monitoring visits with the government officials (Provincial/district relevant authorities) to the project sites.
 Establish positive working relationships with local communities, and provincial/district government officials such as line departments, UNHCR, UNOCHA, and NGO representatives.

Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning
 Ensure that all projects are equipped with MEAL systems like quality benchmarks, billboards, and posters to exhibit MEAL messages for activities
 Ensure action plans from quality monitoring and accountability systems are generated and implemented in a timely manner in collaboration with the MEAL team
 Contribute to the generation of lessons through finalizing issues for Operations Research and participating in lessons learned workshops and providing a report.
 Ensure that projects are reported against the M&E Plan

REQUIREMENTS

14 grade or University degree in development studies, social science, or any other relevant technical credential.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
Essential
 Having field report writing skills along with developing an Activities Plan.
 Having 1-2 years of experience in livelihood programming.
 Good coordination skills and dealing with government entities, institutions, and communities.
 Good communication skills (both oral and written) and understanding of English and local languages, and also have the skill of minor conflict resolving and negotiation.
 Computer proficiency in Ms. Office Packeges (MsWindow, Word, PPT, Excel, Access).
