JOB SUMMARY

Provide technical assistance to the update of the National Public Forests Registry (Cadastro Nacional de Florestas Publicas – CNFP), planned under the Strengthen the National Forestry Information System (SNIF) of the Brazilian A4F work plan. Work closely with the Brazilian Forest Service (SFB) team in charge.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•    Update the National Public Forests Registry for the 2023 base year (CNFP 2023), according to the methodology defined by the Brazilian Forest Service team
•    Liaising with other Institutions to gather necessary input information to the update of the CNFP
•    Develop standardized routines, including semi-automatized processes, to conduct the update of the CNFP
•    Prepare a manual presenting the standard operational procedures (SOP) to the CNFP update
•    Prepare and conduct a training session at the SFB office on the CNFP updating process and methodology
•    Undertake other tasks as required and participate in frequent in-person meetings at the SFB office in Brasilia, Brazil.

REQUIREMENTS

•    University degree in geography, cartography, forestry, data science or related field.
•    Minimum experience of 05 (five) years with conducting GIS projects involving data management, map production and spatial analysis.
•    Working knowledge (level C) of English or Spanish and Portuguese.
•    National of Brazil.
