JOB SUMMARY

The IPC is looking to identify experts with knowledge in at least one of the areas of work identified below.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Specific assignments would include detailed activities and deliverables under one or more of the broad areas of expertise which include the following:

•    Under the guidance of the relevant IPC Regional Coordinators and/or Team leaders, support the planning, implementation and communication of IPC AMN training and analysis (including outside of country/region of assignment);
•    Support coordination of efforts to enhance IPC analyses’ quality standards, in terms of both processes and products aligning with the IPC quality standards – including retroactive and real time quality reviews, as well as famine reviews as required;
•    Provide technical support and analytical assurance in areas of competence to IPC analyses (all scales) including validation of information and analysis
•    Provide support to IPC learning cycle, including facilitation or support to lessons learning exercises and any other learning processes;
•    Contribute, as required, to the technical development of tools related and protocols for IPC AMN scale as well as their  piloting and rollout in IPC analyses;
•    Provide nutrition-related support to IPC Regional Coordinators and relevant Team Leaders in partner consultations,
the conceptualization, design, and implementation of IPC country and regional plans and strategies;
•    Provide support to the IPC consolidation and expansion, promoting IPC institutionalization at global, regional and country level and IPC partners’ engagement in the implementation of the IPC Global Strategic Programme.

REQUIREMENTS

•    Advanced University degree in Nutrition, food security or a related field. A university degree combined with 2 years of additional relevant experience may be considered in lieu of an advanced university degree.
•    Relevant experience in implementation of IPC and/or nutrition analysis or equivalent:
o    Level A (Expert ) – at least 10 years of relevant experience
o    Level B Specialist) – at least 5 years of relevant experience
o    Level C (Junior Specialist) – at least 1 year of relevant experience
•    Working knowledge (level C) of English, French or Spanish (minimum level B English is required). Knowledge of Portuguese would be considered an asset in specific locations.
