The Deputy Logistics Coordinator backs up the Logistics Coordinator in guiding the mission logistics activities.
In particular, he/she supports the completion of urgent tasks, supports the bases, and the set up of Solidarités International procedures and logistics tools.
He/she replaces the Logistics Coordinator in case of absence.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Due to the ongoing conflict, the SI mission in Sudan has significantly increased its activities and funding (17 proposale submited in 2024 – estimated budget of the mission 20M)
• Cross-Bording operations on going through Chad to Darfur with opening of new sites of activites and bases (El Fasher on remote, Zalengi as sub-base, Kartoum in remote and evaluations to come)
• Strcturation & Strategy of the logistics department to implement conscidering the mission from Chad to Sudan
• Revision of HR setup done and a lot of training to plan to Logistics and Programs teams

Priorities for the 2/3 first months:

• Training for national staffs in Ndjamena & support to Logistics Manager (turnover and gaps)
• Capacity building on supply movements from Chad to Sudan (transport & storage) & Support to Adre Logistics team
• Revision and action plan on living conditions N’djamena & support for Geneina
• Proceed to Chad (Ndjemena, Abéché, Adré) market assessments and the compilation prices and suppliers
• Logistics reporting to improve on monthly bases

REQUIREMENTS

Education / academic background:

BAC +5 In logistics, transports

Specific skills and experience:

• 3-4 years of experience in the humanitarian sector
• 3-4 years on a similar position
• Experience in importation and custom clearances
• Experience in accompanying the logistics in emergency and unstable context
• Experience in team management and capacity building of logistics team
• Work under a lot of pressure
• Adaptability
• Strong initiatives and improvisation capacities

Language:

• Fluent French (candidates who don’t speak French and English won’t be considered)
• Fluent English
• Arabic would be a strong asset
