Purpose of Job
The Principal, Knowledge Management helps to develop, design and deliver the Office of the Chief Compliance Officer’s (OCCO) knowledge management and innovation efforts. This includes shaping and driving OCCO’s knowledge management approach and strategy, ensuring consistency of quality of work product via the development of effective, pragmatic (user friendly) and efficient compliance processes and Guidance Notes.
Background
The mission of the Office of the Chief Compliance Officer (OCCO) is to protect the integrity and reputation of the Bank, to promote ethical standards of behaviour and to strengthen the Bank’s accountability and transparency. OCCO assists in identifying, assessing, and monitoring integrity risks arising from failure to comply with the Bank’s standards and policies and contributes, in an independent manner, to the Bank’s effective management of integrity risks. OCCO reports through the Managing Director, Chief Compliance Officer (MD, CCO) to the President of the Bank.
Within this context, the key role of the Principal, Knowledge Management is:
Facts / Scale
OCCO ensures integrity of the entire EBRD mission and that of its operations. In a typical year, OCCO will review approximately 650 proposed operations for potential integrity concerns and 230 operations for compliance with the Bank’s domiciliation policy; deliver around 80 training sessions; respond to 200 requests for capital-market advice; investigate around 25 staff for alleged staff misconduct; and conduct 45 investigations into prohibited practices on the Bank’s programme. All of these activities create knowledge and precedent that needs to be appropriately captured and reported on.
The incumbent must monitor and assess all of OCCO’s activities that generate knowledge as well as OCCO’s outputs to ensure that its knowledge is retained in an efficient manner and assists OCCO in applying a coherent, risk-based approach. They also prepare internal reports and articles that promote OCCO’s knowledge management endeavours, collaborate closely with the Bank’s Monarch Team and MS365 to incorporate OCCO’s compliance requirements within these IT applications and carry out other relevant tasks assigned by the CCO and/or Directors.
