We are searching for Development Effectiveness Consultants to support the Development Effectiveness Division (DVF) team during the implementation of the new IDB Invest business model.

Specifically, DVF has been tasked with reviewing the IDB Invest’s Impact Management Framework (IMaF), which includes developing and implementing a new Strategic Selectivity Framework, a renewed DELTA Impact Rating System, a new Sustainable Portfolio Approach, and an Additionality Framework.

To implement these reforms during the transition period, DVF needs to hire backfills consultants to support the staff member dedicated to transition tasks.

Requirements

• Education: You hold a master’s degree in economics, Finance, Public Administration or related field for the position.
• Experience: At least 5 years of relevant experience in economic research, project management, or monitoring and evaluation of development projects in one or more areas of interest for the IDB Invest (financial markets and banking, trade finance, transport, energy, telecommunication, agribusiness, manufacturing, tourism and other services).Experience in economic cost-benefit analysis or impact evaluation is a plus.
• Languages: Deep knowledge in English and Spanish required; knowledge of Portuguese is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Ensure that throughout the lifecycle of IDB Invest products and services, development effectiveness objectives are met; and that quality standards are followed to ensure the relevance, efficiency, effectiveness, and evaluability, as well as the financial sustainability and financial contribution of these products and services.
• Participate in project preparation, providing technical advice on the project design and monitoring and evaluation plans.
