The Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) serves as a regional think tank and policy advocate dedicated to advancing economic development and social integration in Latin America and the Caribbean. ECLAC conducts research, provides policy recommendations, and facilitates dialogue among governments to address economic disparities and foster sustainable development. Its mission is to promote inclusive growth and regional cooperation through evidence-based analysis and strategic initiatives tailored to the unique challenges of the region.
The internship in the Division of Production, Productivity and Management will last 3 months, depending on the needs of the Office.
Candidates may be selected throughout the posting period, on an “as-needed” basis. Under the supervision or overall guidance of Marco Llinás: The intern will support the Unit of Investments and Corporate Strategies. Tasks will include: – Collaborate in studies on productive development in general, with special attention to impact investments and companies in the region.
-Liaise with government officials in the region to receive information regarding firm level data. -Use statistical software to analyse company data in countries in the region.
– Support the management of the Development Policy Studies Programme for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Fluency in Spanish is required.
Knowledge at a basic level of English is required.
Interns are not financially remunerated by the United Nations. Costs and arrangements for travel, visas, accommodation and living expenses are the responsibility of interns or their sponsoring institutions.
