In a separate initiative, UN Women launched the global program “Safe and Inclusive Cities for Women and Girls” in partnership with AECID, UN-Habitat, leading women’s organizations, and over 50 global and local partners.
This program operates in five pilot cities: Quito (Ecuador), New Delhi (India), Kigali (Rwanda), Port Moresby (Papua New Guinea), and Cairo (Egypt). It aims to develop, implement, and evaluate tools, policies, and comprehensive approaches with measurable impacts to prevent and respond to sexual harassment and other forms of sexual violence against women and girls (SVAWG) in public spaces.
For the first time, on June 24, 2021, the municipality of Tunis officially joined the global UN Women “Safe City” program, reaffirming its commitment to women’s rights.
Under these two programs, the UN Women Program Presence Office based in Tunis, Tunisia, is looking for a Programme intern for a three-month period to support tasks including assisting in the implementation of the Ajyal Egalite and Tunis Safe City Programmes, providing administrative and logistics support in program management.

Renumeration: Interns who are not in receipt of financial support from other sources such as universities or other institutions will receive a stipend from UN Women to partially subsidize their basic living costs for the duration of the internship.
