Completion of the work in a professional manner within the specified time frame will facilitate the efforts of UN Development Business to continue delivering timely and consolidated information on contract opportunities in the developing world to its global audience, as well as further engagement opportunities with the World Bank and other MDBs.

Duties and Responsibilities

Edit, format and publish procurement materials from Multilateral Development Banks on the UNDB website; ensure accurate, correctly formatted and proofread procurement information in accordance with a strict publication schedule.

Prepare, format and publish monthly Bank Operational Summaries for the World Bank, the Inter-American Development Bank and the African Development Bank (quarterly).

Prepare invoices and respond to requests from clients for paid advertisement of procurement announcements. Prepare electronic versions of texts to be edited in accordance with established formats. Ensure typographical accuracy in conformity with UN editorial rules and style; performs desktop publishing functions. Respond to queries from author departments, external editors and clients concerning documents submitted for publication.

Promote Development Business to the business community. Meets with visiting company executives and consultants to discuss the publication and to demonstrate the Development Business website.

Maintain an effective working relationship with the World Bank by promptly complying with requests for information. Organize and oversee the maintenance of the Section’s reference collection of UN documents, publications and other reference materials. Assist with the collection and analysis of data as well as preparation of data presentations and reports for information sharing, responding to queries, knowledge management, planning and decision making.

Assist with visualizations and updating information material such as web pages or brochures.

Qualifications/special skills

A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in office support functions, desktop publishing and in editorial work (including editing, fact-checking and proofreading) is required.

Experience in word processing programs (including Microsoft Word) is required. Experience with publication of content on websites is desirable. One year or more of experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.

Fluency English is required.

Knowledge of French, Spanish and/or Portuguese is an advantage
