By the end of the century, almost half of the global population will be African. By 2035, Africa will have the largest and youngest workforce in the world. African youth have a unique opportunity to leverage this energy to drive prosperity and innovation in their communities and across the continent. However, despite this potential, youth voices and perspectives are often absent in decision-making processes and policies affecting Africa’s development.
To bridge this gap, the UNDP and UNV are implementing the Faces of Africa campaign.

This initiative leverages the power and potential of visual storytelling to:
Document the aspirations, experiences, challenges, and solutions from African youth.
Communicate accurate, nuanced, and contextualized narratives about Africa.
Connect African youth to each other and to national and continental leadership.
Cultivate a community of young African leaders.

Source and gather stories from African youth from Algeria, Central African Republic, Comoros, Equatorial Guinea, Libya, Morocco, Seychelles.
Encourage youth to share their personal experiences, challenges, and aspirations.
Submit collected stories in a structured format that aligns with the campaign’s guidelines.
Online volunteers may share their own stories if they choose to participate personally.

Responsibilities:
1.

Identify and connect with African youth who are willing to share their stories.
2. Collect and curate stories that reflect the campaign’s objectives and themes.
3. Ensure stories are accurate, respectful, and represent diverse perspectives.
4. Maintain regular communication with the campaign team for feedback and guidance.
5. Submit stories within the stipulated time-frame.

Supervision and Support:
Online Volunteers will report to the Faces of Africa campaign team.
Regular check-ins and feedback sessions will be scheduled.
Access to necessary resources, guidelines, and templates will be provided.
