Purpose of the position:
The Livelihoods Assistant Officer will be responsible for supporting the implementation of Youth Livelihoods interventions targeting Adolescent Girls and Young Women.
This position will assist with the field level support required for AGYW participating in youth livelihoods. The position will focus on the coaching and mentoring of livelihoods high impact beneficiaries post receiving startup support.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Responsible for conducting regular site visits to beneficiaries to assess and address their support needs.
2. Support the development of business maps, vocational training applications and CV’s for purposes of positioning AGYW for startup support.
3. Track profitability of income generating activities for AGYW businesses supported through the project.
Proactively escalate issues resulting poor profitability of AGYW run businesses.
4. Proactively identify and document support gaps and regularly compile progress updates to be shared with the Livelihoods Program Officer periodically.
5. Document a vocational participant’s tracker for AGYW participating in vocational training classes at community level. This is aimed at supporting and improving retention and completion of training among beneficiaries.
6. Provide coaching and mentoring for a period of six months for high impact beneficiaries post receiving startup support.
7.
Capture and document field dynamics, impact stories and lessons learnt. Recommend beneficiaries for documentation of success stories and publishing on social media platform.
Qualifications: Education/Knowledge/Technical Skills and Experience
The following may be acquired through a combination of formal or self-education, prior experience or on-the-job training:
Experience in community programming Experience in report writing (field reports) Skills and Abilities: Communication, negotiation and risk management skills Ability to analyze, organize, and interpret data and present findings in both oral and written form.
