Tasks and responsibilities
The Broiler Farmer Field School Training Specialist shall perform the following tasks:
• Provide guidance on the preparation of the BFFS Facilitator Training (ToF), including the programme design, and site visits;.
• Lead the conduct of the BFFS Facilitator Training (ToF) to include but not limited to the following topics: FFS methodology, technical knowledge of AMR/ responsible antimicrobial use, good broiler production and biosecurity practice, and the use of FAO FF3 tools for data collection, monitoring and evaluation, and cross cutting issues that contribute to the reduction of antimicrobial use, enhancement of good production and biosecurity practice, and improvement of production, productivity and profitability at farm level;
• Lead and plan the Broiler Farmer Field School (BFFS) implementation in the Philippines and support the development of BFFS curricula and materials;
• Provide further guidance (in-person or through online consultation) to the local facilitators in implementing BFFS at the community level;
• Serve as the lead resource person in ToF and BFFS implementation;
• Coordinate with the FAO Fleming Fund (FF3) AMR Project regarding the logistical support required, human resource needed, and progress of the project.
• Prepare and provide the training report of the ToF, including Monitoring and Evaluation of trainings, lessons learned and recommendations for the future training and FFS implementations.
• Provide the end of assignment report to summarize all activities listed above and expected outputs.
• Carry out any other relevant duties within his/her technical competence as may be requested.
CANDIDATES WILL BE ASSESSED AGAINST THE FOLLOWING
Minimum Requirements
• University degree in Veterinary Medicine, Animal Science or other related discipline relevant to the assignment;
• At least five (5) years of experience in broiler production or in poultry practice:
• Working knowledge (level C) of English and Filipino;
• National of Philippines.
