JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties

The main duties of the post are to:

Manage the upgrade projects of the Ground Segments Systems, including Multi-Mission Elements, from the architectural design phase until the handover to customer (or end user) including organisation of relevant reviews with close schedule, cost and resource control;
Manage the interactions with Programmes in development, with Operations department and with the engineering teams of TSS in charge of facilities/services maintenance and evolution;

Contribute to the generation and maintenance of the Ground Segment Systems services catalogue and related Service Level Agreement (SLA);
Generate and maintain Development & Management Plans and Projects Plans;
Contribute to the implementation of Change Control and baseline management processes with the Programmes and with Operations;
Support and/or monitor external procurements and contracts as required.

University degree, or equivalent, in a relevant discipline (i.e.

Computer Sciences, System Engineering).

The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. Candidates must be able to work effectively in English and have some knowledge of French.

Proven experience in Project Management, preferably in the fields of developing satellite ground segment generic IT infrastructure and multi-mission elements, within a multiple project environment;
Practical experience with system engineering methodologies;
Experience in system engineering lifecycle aspects (e.g.design, production, integration, verification and validation), preferably for Satellite Ground Segments;
Strengths in analysis, synthesis and presentation, coupled with good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to apply these to the interactions within a team and between teams.
