JOB DESCRIPTION

The position holder will support the implementation, monitoring, evaluation, and communication activities of workshops and events, ensuring that they are developed to high-quality standards and according to the government’s vision and requirements, as well as in compliance with GGGI’s policies and procedures.

In collaboration with the GGGI Risk and Vulnerability Officer and with the NDCP Dominican Republic In-Country Facilitator, s/he will:

  • Support communications, coordination, and logistics between the NDCP In-Country Facilitator and public and private actors related to the NDC-DR 2022-2025 Action Plan.
  • Participate actively in meetings with sectorial institutions, taking notes, generating minutes, and following up on commitments and next steps.
  • Support uploading information in the NDC Country Engagement Online Tool[1].
  • Translate documents related to climate change from Spanish to English.
  • Support other aspects of the programs that are required.

The intern will be physically located in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.

The intern will report to GGGI Sustainable Finance Senior Officer. The intern will be responsible for the following tasks:

  • Support administrative and logistic processes to coordinate meetings with climate change stakeholders.
  • Develop meeting-related materials, including agenda and detailed meeting minutes.
  • Transcribe information from the meeting minutes to Excel and other reports.
  • Prepare announcements, invitations, and other communication materials before meetings.
  • Support the effective development of on-site workshops, including attendees’ registration and attention, among others.
  • Carry out post-training evaluation surveys and results in-depth analysis.
  • Prepare detailed post-workshops reports on GGGI format in English and Spanish.
  • Support the development of awareness and capacity materials for mitigation and adaptation workshops.

Applicants to the GGGI internship program must comply with the following requirements at the time of application:

  • Be enrolled in a Bachelor’s (final year) or Master’s program prior to internship assignment, or a recent graduate within the last 12 months.
  • Be engaged or recently engaged in academic study in a field directly related to GGGI’s work.
  • Possess an excellent English and Spanish skills.
  • Have immediate availability to start the internship.
  • Flexibility in time, especially during working hours (9 am to 6 pm), and availability to attend meetings when required.
QUALIFICATION

  • University degree in a field relevant to sustainability, climate change, economics, communications, international relations, monitoring and evaluation, etc.
  • Spoken and written fluency in English and Spanish.
  • Prior experience in international development projects delivered by NGOs or international organizations is a plus.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft 365 application, particularly SharePoint is desirable.
