JOB DESCRIPTION

 

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Membership Acquisition Manager in his/her capacity is responsible to raise funds from public, focusing on building unrestricted income from the individual donors. Key elements of the strategy will include:

 

  • Promote Save the Children campaign goals and objectives
  • Expansion of the Komunitas Pahlawan Anak (KPA) membership base through Face-to-Face Fundraising techniques
  • Maintain a diverse and secure monthly contribution funding base from KPA.

 

  • Expansion of F2F program across Indonesia and test new approach.
  • Developing innovative ways of working
  • Ensuring all resources is used as efficiently as possible and income opportunities are maximized.

The post-holder will be an active member of Change Management Team and the Cross-Functional Working Groups and other for as notified by the Indonesia Leadership Team. He/She will play a key role in shaping the overall strategy of the organisation and driving forward new initiatives to ensure long-term sustainability. The post holder will be responsible for global KPI as follows:

The Membership Acquisition Manager contributes to:

  • Support the development of an organisational culture that reflects our dual mandate values, promotes accountability and high performance, encourages a team culture of learning, creativity and innovation, and frees up our people to deliver outstanding results for children and excellent customer service for our Members and donors.
  • Help design and implement a coherent organizational structure that is consistent with agency practices and appropriate to programme needs.
  • Help establish, maintain, and improve active and regular working relationships with host government authorities, individual donors, partner agencies including humanitarian and development donors, and local and international NGOs.
  • Supports to ensure Indonesia Office complies with all Save the Children Management Operating Standards and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Supports to ensure that all required support is provide promptly, at scale and in line with the rules and principles during emergencies.

Key Performance Areas and Main Responsibilities Membership Acquisition Leadership and Development

  • Provide the vision and leadership required to maximize the potential of the offline membership acquisition program through Face-to-face (F2F) channel, this is also to be remain up to date on face-to-face fundraising strategies worldwide and translate possibilities to Indonesia
  • Manage offline membership acquisition program; define expectations, provide leadership and technical support as needed, and evaluate direct reports regularly
  • Drive the evolution of the offline acquisition program by looking for opportunities to improve through the refinement of current procedures, strategic planning and implementation of new initiatives
  • Develop relationships and implement strategies to make F2F Agencies feel an integrated part of Save the Children Indonesia.
  • Regular controlling and data-based monitoring of offline membership acquisition fundraising activities for efficiency and effectiveness
  • Remain up to date on face-to-face or offline fundraising acquisition strategies, this also include to maintain and increase the focus on the best performing target groups
  • Responsible for offline membership acquisition annual planning and provide detailed budgeting of all measures, this also include to adjust and refine strategies to ensure Key Performance Indicators in offline acquisition program are met
  • Lead the field of fundraising and philanthropy, monitoring trends to ensure Save the Children benefits from current knowledge, resources and techniques.

F2F Agency Management:

  • Manage relationships with our external F2F Agencies to ensure high quality delivery and help secure future capacity through being a preferred client.
  • Ensure all offline acquisition communication material and products (pitch card, booth and collaterals, etc are able to support agency in promoting Save the Children program in Indonesia and able to be performed in achieving acquisition objectives
  • Support F2F agency performance by providing and organize fundraising and program training – in cooperation with another department.
  • Negotiate agency contracts to best ensure that the interests of the organisation are preserved.
  • Work with agency partners in the preparation of campaigns including providing high quality marketing materials and fundraiser training.
  • Monitor, and take appropriate action to influence, key campaign metrics including, but not limited to acquisition rates, income, cost, ROI.
  • Prepare reports and forecasts for program periodically. Track and present results, making recommendations based on detailed analysis.
  • Proactively seek new agency partnerships in line with wider Fundraising Strategy.
  • Ensure campaigns are fully reviewed, prepare internal reporting and ensure that lessons are used to inform future campaign strategy.
  • Ensure that appropriate measures are in place to monitor and control the quality of KPA members signed, as measured by no show, delinquency and attrition rates
  • Oversee the timely and accurate deliverable for all offline membership acquisition operation report, results reporting and agency payment scheme.
  • Manage mystery shopping programme for agencies.

Offline Membership Acquisition Unit Coordination and Collaborations

  • Work with appropriate team in Resource Mobilization to ensure multi-channel approach are implemented to maximize all database to achieve Resource Mobilization unit target.
  • Work with appropriate team in Resource Mobilization Unit to provide other useful reporting and insights such as offline performance, demographic analysis and other agreed report.
  • Liaise with other Database and Finance department or other related department to ensure any necessary bank information is communicated to teams and other matters related to offline acquisition operation

 

  • Represent and promote Save the Children with enthusiasm and professionalism, building and strengthening relationships with agency, key donors, funders and prospects, and the media as appropriate
  • Infuse the culture of fundraising into all Save the Children’s activities
  • Provide weekly and monthly reporting by the team to the Senior Resource Mobilization Manager

Staff Management, Mentorship, and Development

  • Incorporate staff development strategies and Performance Management Systems into team building process.
  • Lead and manage Offline Membership Support Officer and Administration to be able to perform at their best.

Cross Functional Working Groups and KPIs The Post holder may also be requested to participate in cross-functional working groups as and when required and to contribute to Global KPIs and those agreed with ILT. Other Related Responsibilities as assigned by supervisor.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential

  • Minimum bachelor’s degree in business management, marketing or any other area, with at least 4 years’ management experience in leading successful National Face-to-Face Fundraising teams within charity or at fundraising agency.
  • Excellent numeracy, able to assess and contribute to budget and management reports
  • Strong influencing, leadership and mentoring skills
  • Experience with training groups and preparing/developing training materials
  • Fully familiar with MS Office and Excel at intermediate or advanced level
  • A confident and assertive communicator, able to challenge, inspire and lead
  • A flexible approach to work and a “can-do” attitude to challenges and change;
  • Ability to deal effectively with complex situations requiring significant levels of judgement and assessment of information.
  • A good team player who is also able to work alongside or supervise others as required.
  • Proven ability to work in multi-cultural environments.
  • Ability to remain calm, think clearly, work under pressure, and meet deadlines.
  • Professional level competence in written and spoken English
