JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the ICT Security Awareness and Reporting Team Lead, the intern will: • Support the ICT Security team in requirements gathering, data collection and analysis • Use Microsoft Power Business Intelligence and other tools to create data visualizations, reports, and dashboards on various information security Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for various stakeholders, including internal teams. • Work with technical teams, including data integration team to define and load data sources from multiple data source systems. • Develop and maintain existing information security dashboards and reports based on business requirements. • Maintain documentation of internal processes/procedures . • Assist with other data analysis and visualization/reporting related tasks.
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a)Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b)Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). Studies/degree in the areas of Information and Communications Technology, Information Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Information Management, Project Management, Business Management, or related field is desirable. Knowledge in Microsoft Power Business Intelligence or other visualization/reporting tools is required. Knowledge of databases, ETL processes, and data storage principles is desirable. Knowledge in SQL, Python, or R for data analysis is required. Knowledge in information security is desirable. Candidates should also have demonstrated a keen interest in the work of the United Nations and have a personal commitment to the ideals of the United Nations Charter; and the ability to successfully interact with individuals of different cultural backgrounds and beliefs, which include willingness to try and understand and be tolerant of differing opinions and views.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
