JOB DESCRIPTION

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the ICT Security Vulnerability Management Team Lead, the intern will: • Support the ICT Security team in the UN Hall of Fame program. • Review and analyze vulnerability reports from security researchers. • Communicate vulnerabilities to technical teams for remediation. • Work with the communication team on changes to the UN website • Gather and compile statistics and reports for information security activities. • Maintain documentation on related information security processes. • Assist with application assessments.
Qualifications/special skills
To qualify for an internship with the United Nations Internship Programme, applicants must meet one of the following requirements: (a)Be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher); or, (b)Be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s level or equivalent). Studies/degree in the areas of Information and Communications Technology, Information Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Information Management, Project Management, Business Management, or related field is desirable. Knowledge of web programming languages such as JavaScript, Python, PHP, and others is required. Knowledge of web content management systems such as Drupal, WordPress, and others is desirable. Knowledge in information security is desirable. Knowledge of security issues with web applications is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position advertised, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another official UN language is desirable.
