JOB DETAIL
Duties & Responsibilities:
Conduct assessments to identify the needs and vulnerabilities of target communities concerning food security and livelihoods.
Assist in the design and implementation of LFS projects, including cash-based interventions, agricultural support, vocational training, and small business development.
Collaborate with communities to identify suitable beneficiaries for LFS interventions based on established selection criteria.
Facilitate community mobilization activities to raise awareness of LFS programs and encourage active participation.
Provide technical support and training to beneficiaries on improved agricultural practices, business management, and other livelihood-related activities.
Monitor and evaluate LFS project activities, ensuring they are implemented according to NRC’s standards and donor requirements.
Prepare and submit regular progress reports on LFS activities, highlighting achievements, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.
Work closely with the logistics and procurement teams to ensure the timely delivery of inputs and materials for LFS activities.
Coordinate with local authorities, NGOs, and other stakeholders to ensure LFS activities are aligned with broader community needs and strategies.
Promote the inclusion of cash-based interventions and market-based approaches within LFS projects to enhance sustainability and impact.
Support emergency response activities related to food security and livelihoods as required, including rapid needs assessments, distribution of food and non-food items, and post-distribution monitoring (PDM).
Contribute to the development of project proposals, budgets, and work plans in collaboration with the LFS Coordinator and other team members.

Skills & Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in agriculture, Agronomy, Economics, Social Sciences, Rural Development, or a related field.
A minimum of three years of experience in implementing food security and livelihoods projects in a humanitarian or development context.
Experience with cash-based interventions and knowledge of market-based programming is highly desirable.
Previous experience in working in complex and volatile environments.
Strong interpersonal, communication, and training skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Proficiency in English (both written and spoken); knowledge of Somali is an advantage.
